I think This is Johnny Depps year To Finally Win An Oscar, i hope He Does!!

I Hope Ellen Page Wins Best Actress

And javier bardem wins for BSA!!

Re: Oscars Sunday Night

My prediction is that I will fall asleep again before the end of the ceremony.

Re: Oscars Sunday Night

OHH, i forgot about the little girl from Atonement. She was aMAZING, one of the only redeeming things from the movie.

She really stood out so if she wins ill be happy too, or maybe she and Ruby Dee can tie.

Re: OSCARS..........YAAAAAAY Cotillard Won...

yeah, the french won!

Re: OSCARS..........YAAAAAAY Cotillard Won...

i'm really glad that Glen & Marketa won best song! they really deserved it.

Re: OSCARS..........YAAAAAAY Cotillard Won...

I'm watching the oscars and I just had to write something when Marion Cotillard won.. She was just amazing in "La Vie En Rose", I'm so glad she beat Julie Christie...!!

I'm glad your favorite won, but why do you have to diminish it by proclaiming her win over Julie Christie?

Re: OSCARS..........YAAAAAAY Cotillard Won...

Didnt see the movie, dont intend to but i was so happy she won. The little 7 second clip they played of her in the movie looked amazing. So i am sure deserved it.

I saw her on the red carpet and i was like she looks like she came to win in that dress and look she did.

She messed up big time by not acknowledging the woman whom she played in the movie. It was a real life person.

Re: OSCARS..........YAAAAAAY Cotillard Won...

I wanted Cate Blanchett to win. She was great in Elizabeth.

Yeah but the movie wasn't. She can only do so much with what she was given. And Cotillard was given the better material to work with.

But the Best Actress category...who would've seen that Tilda getting it?! I was so sure Cate was going to be called, or at least Ruby Dee (who was awing at her own performance when they showed it LOL).

I wasn't paying that much attention but didn't Tilda Swinton win Best Supporting Actress?

Re: Oscars Sunday Night

DAMN IT! I lost my Oscar pool by ONE point! I'm pissed I thought for sure There Will Be Blood was gonna win Best Picture

Re: Oscars Sunday Night

I was right in everything except Best Actress. And I'm so happy Marion Cotillard won.
Juno didn't deserve Best Screenplay.

This Evening's Oscars. The Most Boring Ever ?

Yeah, I thought so....

I mean, *sheesh*

Where was the splash and sparkle ? Where was the entertainment ?

I mean....Good Lord !

Thoughts ?

Re: This Evening's Oscars. The Most Boring Ever ?

Not sure if it was the most boring. At least they didn't go too much past 3 hours. Some nice surprises. I thought Jon Stewart did a good job on the opening. Not bad for not having the writers on board sooner.

Re: This Evening's Oscars. The Most Boring Ever ?

even Jon Stewart couldn't save this one...

I know !! :-)

It was just like, *blahhh*

Who really cares ?

meh

Even the gowns... Apparently RED was the color d'jour, but....

I dunno, it just seemed so flat to me...

Re: This Evening's Oscars. The Most Boring Ever ?

I recorded it on TiVo, so I could fast forward through all the ads, boring acceptance speeches, and that made it more tolerable. Somewhat. I was still too long. Watching it in the manner I did took just under two hours. What a lot of fluff it pumped into these things.

Re: OSCARS..........YAAAAAAY Cotillard Won...

Marion Cotillard performance in La Vie En Rose is phenomenal. While all the nominees richly deserves all of our worthy praise, she was properly recognized. She is the second in France to win an Oscar's, for the acting category. The first one is in early 60's and the 2nd aside Sophia Loren to win the best actress in a non English speaking role.
Her performance as Edith Piaf is captivating. The movie is a must to see.

Re: This Evening's Oscars. The Most Boring Ever ?

It was very boring. The musical numbers all nearly put me to sleep. There were too many montages. There were no upsets. And the Coen brothers seem quite dull, and they were up on stage three times.
The honoray Oscar was dull, and even the In Memorium segment was filled with people who hardly anyone outside the business would even know about.
I liked all the actors acceptance speeches though.

Re: This Evening's Oscars. The Most Boring Ever ?

I thought Jon Stewart was hilarious... then again, I only watched the first five minutes of the show, so I might be a little skewed. ;)
