Ottawa meet?
We thought you didn't show up period. I got there a little early so I was looking at the books a bit, came out a bit and then went back in. I saw a pic of ibox so I kind of new what he looked like. It was only though after he and his bf bought coffee that I saw their JUB shirts and realized it was them. Hal showed up soon after. I think this was probably about 7:15.

We had a great night though. We started there, and I think it was 8:30 to 9 that we decided to head to the Lookout. We had some drinks, we chatted, we danced..it was awesome. I saw about 6 or so guys that did it for me lol...the younger guys came in later in the night. Ibox and his bf are great people and they make a cute people. They really seem happy and that is awesome to see. Hal is a very cool guy as well. He's been to many places, likes to have fun (can dance quiet well) and is easy and nice to talk to.

All in all it was a great night and look forward to meeting all of you again.
 
Next time, if there's a next time, I'll give my cellphone number to one of you just in case I can't find people again.
 
Sorry Nate. My BF and I were a bit lat leaving the house then the drive in from Stittsville meant we didn't walk thru the door until 7:10. I usually pride myself on being exactly punctual. Oh well. You missed a fun evening.

Hopefully Ottawa JUBs will continue to have this exponential attendance growth.

Alright, I'm back in Windsor. It was good seeing you again ibox, and good to meet your bf (finally). lol. Bayern, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself.

Besides the actual meet-up, the cute blond bartender and the drag queen show, the highlight of the night was seeing the happy married couple in their tuxes, with their wedding party in tow. I wish Lane and Pierre many happy years together.

Nathan, sorry for missing you. I arrived late in Ottawa, since I left Toronto later than expected. Otherwise, I would have been at the Starbucks at around 6:50. I'm positive that there'll be other meet-ups.
 
Again the idea of starting a Yahoogroup (it has a calendar, that's why I thought of it) to better organise meetups comes to mind but I don't know how anyone else would feel about that.
 
Hmm, gee guys, I have to admit I've just stumbled upon this thread and am pleased to see there ARE other JUBers in Ottawa. I'll try to stay aware of the next meet and try to pop by. I have been out of the JUB loop for the better part of 18 months while my life was turning itself inside out, but I think I'm ready to be a bit more active again.

Alright, so it's official...I'm moving back to Ottawa! So, I wouldn't mind meeting up again. Anyone up for Saturday, 23/09? We can meet up for drinks/dinner or whatever and determine what to do from there.
 
Can't say. Not yet anyway. We might be having a friend from TO visit that wkend. But he's gay too, so maybe all 3 of us would go.
 
Its alrite at this point, nothing planned, but you know how plans can change. So, I think like usual, lets check the situation 2-3 days before that date.
 
Alright, I'm in Ottawa now. Hopefully, I'll have a place to call "home" tomorrow. E-mail me or call me with the plans. I think the UOttawa network has JUB firewalled.
 
So what's the verdict gentlemen? Are we meeting up tomorrow? We could meet up at 7:00pm at the Second Cup on Bank and Laurier. Decide what to do from there? Let me know, either way.
 
I still don't know what we're doing. Two guys from TO are now coming to visit. We're supposed to go motorcycling, kayaking, etc. but the weather will probably change all that. If so, we'll probably JUB. We'll decide on Saturday and I'll let you know then.

Make a plan and if we can, we'll join you.

Note: The last time I was at Swizzles, I noticed that it's in the basement of the building that houses the Afganistan embassy. Call me paranoid, but since the Afghan president is in town and our army is helping liberate the Afghans, I'd rather not be in the basement of a building that might be an elevated terrorist target this weekend. Besides, for security reasons, the bar might even be closed.

Swizzles is in the same building as the Afghani Embassy? I had no idea! But His Excellency is leaving Canada on Saturday, so I doubt that it would be a target. Good to know though...I think Swizzles just has the go-go boys on Saturdays...I'm not sure of Ottawa's gay scene just yet. I've re-connected with some of my gay acquaintances since having moved back, and I'm sure they're going to fill me in on the scene soon.

Anyway, give me a shout whatever the decision. I won't have access to the computer all day tomorrow. Since I'll be in downtown all day...Anyone want to go for dinner at around 5:30? Let me know...
 
Hmm, I'm completely not into the scene at all but that's just me.

I'm out of money so I can't do dinner, personally.
 
My buddies are here. I still don't know what we're doing because all this rain has altered our intentions of motorcycling. I just left Nathan my phone number in a pvt msg. Hal, I'll call you sometime this afternoon.
