Throw the Ouija out NOW!!!!!
I still don’t feel comfortable telling this, but I must.
My friends and I back in high school thought the whole Ouija thing was a big joke. So one lunch time a friend of mine Anne decided to bring the Ouija and we started to play with it.
Of course it started out as fun and games, you know, people moving the piece around and stuff, but then things started happening. The first incident that we thought was a joke was when it said one of us was going to die on the weekend. Of course we all took it as a joke.
We just chalked that revelation up as a joke. That one of us was still playing with the Ouija.
I’ll never forget that call. It was Sunday morning around 3:30 a.m when Anne called my house sobbing. I remember waking up all confused and not know what was going on. I started to remember that I was at a party earlier that night and had been drinking with everyone. I then remembered that I left the party early because I had to work Sunday morning at 7 a.m. I got a ride with a buddy who could drive at the time home, instead of staying and getting a ride with everyone else. I remember Anne was on the phone and she wasn’t saying anything at all. All I could hear was her crying. I remember asking her what was wrong. Then she said it.
“Drew’s dead.”
I couldn’t believe it. It turns out they got in a car accident on the way home. Everyone ended up with only minor wounds, but Drew, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the car. He didn’t make it.
The funeral happened and stuff slowly turned back to normal. Months later, I can’t even remember how it happened, but the whole Ouija thing came up again. By now, most of us are not putting two and two together. Everyone thought that it was just a coincident and nothing else. I still had this uncomfortable feeling with it ever since that Sunday morning though. I never told anyone though. Looking back now, I really wish I would have said something earlier.
We decided to play it again.
Of course the whole people playing with it things started up again. Nothing was revealed this time. It was just bullshit. That made me feel better at the time. Nevertheless, we decided to play again a few weeks later. It was weird because the Ouija somehow kept coming up in our daily conversations, like it was slowly trying to tell us something. Anyways, weeks later we tried again. This time it told us that two of us were going to get hurt. It didn’t say how, only that two of us were going to get hurt. It didn’t give a specific time either. Of course being teenagers, we again chalked this up as someone playing with the board, especially since it was so vague. I clearly remember it stopping on the sun in the top left corner though because it reminded me of something.
Later that day I was in my english writers class and left about half way through the period to use the bathroom. As I was walking to the bathroom I noticed flashing lights coming from the big windows of the main floor. It was a fire truck and an ambulance. I thought nothing of it at first because they were always coming to my school for something. I then remember what the Ouija said about two of us getting hurt and got a little crept out, I knew it was my imagination playing tricks on me.
I walked to the north east stairwell because it was the closest stairwell that could get me to the main floor foyer. What did I see as soon as I walked into the stairwell, but a huge picture of the sun painted on the back wall that looked almost identical to the one on the Ouija board. Now, I’m was getting just a little weirded out, but still not thinking too much about it.
I got to the main foyer and saw my vice principal talking with the police. The ambulance started to pull away. I for some reason walked right up to them and asked what was going on. Mr. Hopper, who was the vice principal at the time told me that someone feel down the stairs. I immediately knew what stairs.
“Was it the north east stair well?” I asked, but I already knew it was.
“Yes” he said.
The cop then asked me if I saw something. I said no. I knew that it happened there and I knew it had to be someone that I knew.
“It was Donald, Jay” Mr. Hopper told me. Even though I knew it was someone I knew that fell. Hearing it just made it seem somehow more real. I couldn’t believe it. That picture of the sun, that stairwell, someone I knew. It just made to much sense to be a coincidence to me.
The cops asked me a few basic question right there, but left it at that. I told Mr. Hopper I had to go back to class and he didn’t seem to press the issue.
I was in a total daze all the way back to class. I went back to the north east stairwell and looked at the picture of the sun again. It couldn’t be a coincident. I got back to class and my teacher didn’t ream me out for being gone so long, thank god. Anne was in that class with me so I went and sat at her computer station and told her what happened, even about the sun picture.
She of course freaked out, and then asks to leave class so she could see the sun picture for herself.
5 minutes went by and she didn't return, 10 minutes, then 15. I start to think it was weird that she hasn’t returned yet. Class ended 5 minutes later and I decide to see what the hold up with her was, I also had to find out what she thought about the whole thing.
I noticed flashing lights coming from the big windows of the main floor again. I thought that it must be the cops getting ready to leave.
I got to the main floor to see my friend Jill crying with my friends, who look like they’ve seen a ghost. I walk up to them and ask what the hell was going on. And then they told me that Anne fell down the stairs. I felt like I was living in an episode of the twilight zone. I just couldn’t believe it. The ambulance started to pull away. Those were the lights I saw.
I knew before I asked, but asked if it was the northeast stairwell. They all stopped what they were doing and looked at me. I was now even more weired out. Jill asked how I knew that. I told her about Donald and the whole sun picture and Ouija ending on the sun picture thing. They all looked at one another. I asked what was wrong. Jill said that while they were playing with the Ouija during their spare, which was at the same time as my English writer’s class. The Ouija kept pointing to the letters NES, then the sun, then the number 2 over and over again. They all thought it was someone being retarded playing with the Ouija.
The NES = North East Stairwell, the painting of the sun on the stairwell wall, the 2 represents 2 people. Two of my friends fell on that stairwell that day, Donald then Anne.
Needless to say, I'll haven't played with a Ouija since and won't. Maybe it was just a coincident, maybe someone was lying about something somewhere along the line, but I know what I saw and what the Ouija said and it’s too concurrent for my liking.
I say THROW IT OUT NOW!!!!! Beware the Ouija. You might think it’s a good natured joke or what have you right now, but you just wait for October 31, 2008 and till me what happens. You have been warned!
