Every year we pick out our tree from a tree farm. It has to be a 10 footer and perfect on 3 sides.

I get an FB message today that tells me it was cut down by someone else who removed the tags.

I had asked the tree growers if they had a better system to protect the selected trees but they said they never had any trouble...well we now have no tree and suspect they don't have one as good as the one selected.

So off to the City to pay whatever someone wants to charge us and hope they still have some tall ones.

It told the tree grower that I hope it explodes into flames inside their house and traps them all inside.

I think I scared him.

You probably shouldn't expect one of those 'thank you' calls from him.

We have planted over 70,000 trees.

But we don't cultivate them as Christmas trees. About 15,000 are spruce...about 4 to 20 feet tall. Over the decades, we have cut out about 4 trees...but the rest are just normal trees...imperfect and inaccessible once the snow has fallen...because we don't have Belle and Floss and a sled.

Not as bad as stealing a whole tree, but one year someone stole the wreath right off my front door.

Geez, what's the world coming to?

I'm so sorry this happened to you, the gall of some people!

What's next . . . stealing the tree from inside the house?

What cunts, hopefully karma awaits them.

See we get around this by having fake ones! We are not bug people and there can be up to 30,000 little fucker in there no thanks, also the fire hazard and risk are too great, plus the sugar water it needs would attract ants no thanks, The lights are on ours unfurl the branches stack the 3 pieces together plug it in and tap boom ready to decorate!

I'm a bit surprised you don't have your tree up and decorated by now, but my cynical nature thinks the tree farm sold it to somebody else for a higher price, or that a friend/family member wanted it. Their excuse seems fishy and contacting you by facebook doesn't seem right either. I'd be pissed, which I gather you are!

No.it was just carelessness.

In the end we had to buy a pre-cut and have it delivered...$225, but I don't have the time or inclination to walk through 10 acres of trees again to find the 'one'.

It isn't the tree we hoped for or wanted, but it is propped up on the verandah.

We also never decorate our tree before the 18th and keep it up until the Sunday after epiphany.

Well to be fair, Christmas tree farms are bad for the environment so that is karma for you. Buy an artificial tree you can use every year.

Would you like to explain your work on this?
