Update. Rendell has apologized saying he didn't mean it "that way." Now he's managed to put both his feet in his mouth. For her part, Gov. Napolitano has been very gracious calling Gov. "Sasquatch" Rendell a "good friend."

There was nothing wrong with what Rendell said and it certainly was not mysogynist as CNN attempted to portray it.

I have worked in large organizations where there are jobs that are incredibly demanding and people with families have difficulty filling such posts. People without outside responsibilities or with "no life" as Rendell and many others have inartfully phrased it, often fill such jobs and often work holidays and take travel assignments that are difficult for "family people".

This was all about cable news trying to invent a story where there is none.

I have often wondered how married life long service members survive the career. As you rise the job becomes more and more demanding. I have worked for so many men and women who are at work so often they must only sleep at home. Not much of a life. i have managed to not let that happen but I figured out sometime last year that i have spent some 8 out of the last 17 years on missions. A lot of time had I been in a relationship.
