Our Housekeeper is Stealing from Us...

In future vet all prospective housekeepers properly police check them and follow up ALL references that's what we did and have had no problems at all in fact the opposite she brings things into the house ie flower fresh cut from her garden etc and guess what we have had her for years and are dreading the day she retires.

After all its your home and you need the 100% trust of everyone in it.

Ohhh, how I wish we could find a girl like yours.

I'll be sure to check references for the next girl I hire. It's so hard finding good help now-days. ugh
 
Me, I would have started putting random items in her purse, coat pockets, etc. Start off with something small -say an 8-ball, $5 of pot, or a baggie of pills. Then start moving up to more fun items... porn mags, dildos, handcuffs... Then be certain to be in the area when she was leaving. Then say extremely loud "Oh My God! You found Joan! I've been looking for her everywhere." Grab the item from her and start hugging/caressing the item.
She'll think you're fucking crazy and won't return. I had a student write this in response to a random question I used to start class one day...

It's time-consuming finding good help now-days, just as it has been forever. It's whether or not you want to put in the effort to find someone of worth, or whether you just want the position filled so you don't have to deal with both not having someone to clean AND having to keep checking references on potential new hires.

But then again, many people look forward to the candles going out, so they can start cursing the darkness. After all, what can you talk about if you can't talk about the help?

I have found that one of the best ways to get help is to ask neighbors who have had the same person for a long time.

Many middle class people have cleaners that come in on a regular basis. Most of my neighborhood has cleaners, gardeners, window cleaners, etc.

When you have 2 working in a household, it becomes the only way to properly take care of the home.

Funny you guys are talking about this now, one of my neighbors last night, was just talking about how in the furture, she seriously wants to have a cook, housekeeper and nanny.

I just have cleaners that come in once every 2 weeks.

Our gardeners are guys, but I wouldn't have a problem if they were female. Most housekeepers are female... it's just the way it is. Best not rock the boat.
btw - You no nothing about my family, or the wages we paid her. For the record, we paid her quite well. AND... we are a very pleasant family to work for, but if people steal from us, we get rid of them.
 
I am one of those 'hired helps' though a slightly more upmarket one than just a cleaner. So all I can say is thank goodness people have the financial means to pay for 'help' because if not thousands, including myself, would be without a job.

So don't criticise those who have the means just because you don't.

I do eat madame's chocolates; do you think she considers that stealing or is it just a perk of the job? ;)

Let me be clearer about this.

Anyone who calls their cleaning lady a 'crazy Mexican' immediately comes across as a dick. If this is the culture and attitude of your household, then I can guarantee you that you are not nice people to work for. Whether you think you pay well or not.

I know that your mother apparently doesn't know how to deal with 'the help'. This likely means that there is not a good employer/employee relationship.

The fact that you come onto a porn forum bulletin board to get opinions on firing the 'crazy Mexican' housekeeper tells me that you don't have a healthy relationship with your cleaning person.

And by the way, calling the people who clean your toilets 'the help' is demeaning and too precious by half.

They are either a cleaner or housekeeper.

Oh, and if you are hiring illegals, but think they are somehow your inferiors.....well I'm sure you know exactly what my thoughts would be on this.
