This is my first post here, I came across a thread earlier tonight and I decided to jump in and maybe get to know some of you folks here. To describe myself, I'm an openly out bisexual male who is mostly into men. I'm not exactly looking for a hit and quit for skype or anything and I don't consider anything wrong with that but, I'm just looking to meet like minded individuals for the most part and shoot conversation.

I'm from a southern influenced part of Missouri, I enjoy beer, french fries are my first and true love and yes I have a bit of a gut from it and I really REALLY enjoy punk rock. I'm not into stuff like Blink but I'm mostly into the classics that helped founded the movement and my favorite scene from the times are the mid to late 90s hardcore scene out of LA.

Anyway I hope this wasn't too long and I don't expect a huge essay back either, just wanted to say hi and say what I'm about to help the introduction process. :D

Welcome to JUB, I'm sure you'll find plenty of like-minded individuals here to talk to. if you ever want to branch out and just chat about nothing in particular...there are plenty of people open to that. :)

Thank you virt and coop for the welcome. Hope you two are having a good day. :)

Also that's great to know coop, I like variety in conversation.

Don't like Blink? I dont know if we can be friends. HAHA, just kidding. Welcome to the board man, enjoy.

Welcome, I'm 21 also, and I really like music as well (mostly 60s/70s rock/metal), I haven't really delved into punk too much yet, but I do have albums by The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, Dead Boys, Dead Kennedys, Suicidal Tendencies, Agent Orange, Minor Threat, Black Flag, and Slayer's punk cover album.

I do plan to get more into 70s-80s punk soon though!

Thanks for the welcome and yeah I'm just not really into Blink. They're an alright band and I like some of their songs but I have to be in a mood to listen to them.

You're on your way. There is a point where you just can't really get too deep into the early years of punk music because a lot of the really good stuff is hidden away on cassette tapes in boxes and plus there's honestly some horrible bands out there as well. Newer punk bands are alright as well, I listen to the maximum rocknroll podcast to hear what's going on internationally in the scene and depending on who the guest DJ is will depend on if you get more specialized playlists or more new age stuff. Like I listen to this one podcast of theirs recently that has a bunch of female vocalists and that's pretty radical to see variety. The only bad thing about maximum rocknroll is that they put any kind of music on the podcast so you get shit that isn't even understood by the DJ like one podcast had a punk song sung entirely in japanese and it sounds like junk to anyone that doesn't speak the language.

Yeah, I never got around to punk too much yet because I'm still so caught up in 70s hard/blues rock. My album collection is around 500 now, about 325 of which are from the 70s. I was planning on branching out sooner but there is just so much great obscure hard/blues rock that was made between 1970 and 1975.

If you like it, it's good to you and that's what's important to remember with music.
