Crisis is a part of life and the often unavoidable circumstances (as in aging) are normal but how we deal whatever happens is the key because we have a choice on how we deal with anything.

Physical changes for males are not as dramatic as with the end of menstruation, and hormonal variances can be caused by several things.
If talking about the change of life, and not meaning the literal phase of menopause, then I think we all go through such a change psychologically, if we life long enough.
Not sure the term "mid-life crisis" has that much to do with the actual change of men as much as the anxiety about the change in roles. Lots of folks focus on erectile dysfunction, but I'm not sure that many of us actually suffer it. I'm 62, and I've never experienced it, although to little consequence since I'm not partnered.

I have just as much hormonal buzz and excitement as the next man when in the presence of some young and handsome Lothario, but I am by no means not attracted to the appeal of mature men. I have a neighbor down the block from me who is in his late 60's (I think) and I find him quite handsome and appealing. He is athletic, but not muscular. He's sophisticated and polished.

No, he is very much straight. And his wife seems sophisticated as well. I took them some Christmas cookies a couple of years ago, before I noticed him being handsome per se, but I've never heard from them socially. He just chats every few months as he happens to be jogging or cycling by and I happen to be toiling in the yard.
He was kind enough to say he hopes I don't move this summer, but I've been here almost six years now, and they've never welcomed me socially. This neighborhood is like that. And I've never gotten my house up to snuff to entertain, so I've kind of made this a prison of my own non-making.
