I heard this story on the radio this morning. To actually make a profit and get an additional tax-payer funded subsidy equal to 50% of your profit is heinous is the extreme. This country is nuts.

Ok, I heard on the radio this morning that this report is not true and that News Corp did pay taxes. Glad to hear it.
 
It doesn't really surprise me. Businesses have been raking in big bucks through tax rebates for decades.

Depends on how you define movement....There is a lot of movement between lower and middle classes, both generational and in a person's lifetime. Also, the upper classes seem to get downgraded quite a bit, sometimes going as low as the lower classes. On the other hand, I would agree that few rise to the upper classes, but that's not a major surprise given how much it takes, both in time and effort.

But this is reported at least weekly....
