While we are on the subject of Wizard of Oz derivatives, has anyone seen the Syfy miniseries Tin Man? Is it worth the time and effort?

It's live action. Although I am fairly certain it will be loaded with CGI or mo-cap characters also.
I vaguely remember it enough to know I didn't like it. To even call it a derivative is a bit of a stretch. Maybe these will help you decide:While we are on the subject of Wizard of Oz derivatives, has anyone seen the Syfy miniseries Tin Man? Is it worth the time and effort?

It'll more interesting to see if they decide to go for the silver shoes instead of ruby slippers, and be more consistent with Baum's work. It's gonna be interesting to see if they tell the story how one of the Witches creates the ALL powerful Ruby Slippers...

Utter dreadful sh**
And we have a trailer. . .
Already some of our questions have answers. And evidently Kansas has always been black and white.
It was so exciting to see that glimpse of Elphaba! I hope they don't contradict the 'Wicked' series. I loved those books.

...transitioning from Kansas to Oz is not going to wow audiences like it did in 1939 and have the same effect.
If it's homages to the 1939 movie they are interested in doing, then I want to see James Franco sing Over the Rainbow.I believe the sepia to color transition is their homage to the 1939 movie.

The purchaser was possibly under the mistaken belief that it was a 'one and only' when in fact there were about half a dozen pairs... just like the blue gingham dress.
Only four sets of Judy Garland’s ruby slippers remain. One in the Smithsonian, the pair stolen from the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, a mismatched pair owned by collector Michael Shaw and these [$2mill] shown on “Hollywood Treasures” known as the “beauty pair” used for close-ups, such as Dorothy’s exit scene with Glinda.
True. But then again, like Alice, it's being made with Disney money. And whatever Disney wants, Disney gets, regardless of what the Director wants.Yeah, but at least Tim Burton is not directing it.
