I couldn't find any research saying it works. Just to put things in perspective, a physician could fill up a syringe with saline, tell you it's a cure for erectile dysfunction, inject you and the studies tell us that a percentage of the population would attest that the injection helped their erectile dysfunction.

Most of the studies that I found were regarding orthopedic injuries and there was conflicting evidence about whether it was effective. It looks like the plastic surgeons picked up on the idea and started injecting womens faces (marketed as the "vampire facial"). Then it started being marketed by other specialists as a treatment, especially since the injections are not covered by insurance and can cost up to $1,000US.

I did look at a few urology websites that offered the injections. They were not affiliated with reputable clinics or universities. Several offered cosmetic services such as scrotal botox injections. That's probably a sign.

It's a cosmetic procedure where botox is injected into the cremaster muscle to get "low hangers".

I'd recommend keeping your eyes on research on low intensity extracorporeal shock wave therapy (LIESWT) and low intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) therapy. These seem to show promise.
