P90x

Does anyone have any experience with Power 90? (the precursor to P90X) I'm curious about it because I believe it has 30 minute workouts instead of the 1-1.5 hour ones in P90X and I don't have a whole lot of free time.
 
If anyone can post some before and after or some current progress pics I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm trying to save my money to buy the program and give it a try and I want to see if it's worth it.

Yes! Thats the one I started on back in 2002! Wow hard to believe Tony and the gang have hit it big! And to think I knew himin the VCR days!! Anyway, it worked great Axalon. It was 30-45 minutes but dont let the time fool you on that. It was where they spliced together workouts (with no rest really) and you are going to need that for sure - especially in the beginning. I would allot an hour and 15. I am getting my new P90X tapes this week so I'll let you know how I make with them. I think I'm going to allot 2 hours based on my experience with these "times"..Basically, its a marketing tool these times. People go, "oh yeah I can do half an hour" but if you put 75 mins they would blow it off!!
 
Thanks for the info. I'm kind of trying P90x right now (a friend who never used it let me borrow it). I've already missed several days simply because of a busy schedule.

I usually don't take much longer than the time alotted on the video but they actually include breaks in P90x. My problem is that sometimes I only have an hour and a half between when I get home from work and have to go out somewhere else, and I need time to eat as well.

Even if I end up just sticking with P90x and skipping days here and there an hour workout on some days is still better than nothing.
 
I started P90X over 1½ months ago, but after my accident I haven't been able to go back to it due to my wrist being sprained and bruised palms (can't put a lot of pressure on them).

I would recommend this workout to anyone but be prepared. The first day, I hurt but it was a good hurt. The second day, I literally crawled to the shower because plyo really killed my legs. Though, I wasn't in the best shape when I started so it could be completely different in other people's cases, just speaking of my personal experience.

In the first month, I noticed a huge difference in my shoulders, chest, arms, and calves. Not much in the abs section, but not too worried about it. Definitely worth it! :D
 
I think hes a gayboy - he seems to flirt with the dudes and ignore the females. The AbRipper is a bitch!! Although Adam is hottie in that one!
 
Anyone else find TOny Horton kind of annoying?

yes! lol. hate those super enthusiastic, fast talking sales dudes.

but the program is great and a terrific jumping off point for long term fitness. if you want to keep it up past 90 days, though, I recommend doing it with some friends, and, if the weather permits, do it outside. more fun and keeps the motivation going. I thought I was pretty fit, but these off balance strength training exercises really kick your butt.
 
Indeed! But dude I've dropped 10 pounds in two weeks on it :)
 
Just got mine here. Going to start next week on Monday.

Has anyone been taking pics of their progress? I am planning to do that, probably will have to crop out the face though since I don't want people stealing my pics.
