Pain during urination..

I had anal sex for the first time back in April and this went on through June. I was in a relationship with a guy who was also recently tested and was very serious about only having sex if both people were clean...so No condoms were ever used. We stopped things in June, but we always continued to talk. Anyways, around Labor Day (September) last year I noticed some pain when I would go to the bathroom. I decided to let it go for a couple weeks and finally I purchased some UTI pills as that is what I thought I had. Tried those out for a couple weeks and still did not help so in October I saw a doctor who tested my urine and said everything came back completely clear, no signs of any UTI. I was tested again and still nothing after the medication they gave me did not work. Things were still not getting better so I had ultrasounds on my kidneys and bladder. The kidneys all came back fine and they found tumors in my bladder. Three weeks ago I had surgery to remove the tumors (Which were not cancer!) but I am currently still in a lot of people when I pee. I did bring up STI's to my doctor, but they did not see any reason to test for that. He also said that I just had some major surgery on my bladder (they pulled bacteria A LOT OF IT through my penis) so it said it will burn when I pee for a few more weeks. But it feels identical to how it felt previous to the surgery. I'm just not sure what to expect.

Also, my cum has been quite yellow. Which I also brought up to the doctor and he said it can be any number of reasons, but didn't seem to take notice. Actually told that to 2 doctors..

So long story short, I have no reason to believe that the guy lied to me or had a STI or was hooking up with other guys. I did even straight up ask him when he knew everything going on with me, and he assured me he wasn't (while we weren't even together). I know people always say "He would never cheat on me" and then find out they are wrong, but there is nothing to believe that at all... I'm just completely stumped with all the tests and blood work and surgery I had done. Does anyone have any other suggestions or ideas?

I'm really glad that you posted here. And, unfortunately, I don't have the answer to alleviate your concern. Based on what you've posted however, I kind of think that you should give it 2-4 weeks before becoming concerned.

I'm assuming that you are on an post surgery antibiotic -- is this correct?

Also -- just from my personal perspective. I've never allowed a doctor to dismiss me with unanswered questions or concerns. Nor have I ever had a doctor that didn't respond to my concerns. Regardless of how hurried they may seem -- they are there to help you, and I'm pretty sure that if you ask the right questions, they will answer them appropriately. Based on your OP -- I'm guessing that you will be OK in the very near future.

Another Also -- Yeah, it is human nature for us guys to FREAK OUT if anything isn't working "normal" with our penis. I get it. I hope that whatever little I've posted here helps calm your nerves over the next few weeks. IF thing don't improve -- please persist with your 2 doctors. What you are describing ISN'T OK for the "long" term.

Yes, my urologist did the actual surgery and I've seen him the most. Semen was never tested, nor was prostatic fluid.

I've already looked all over... I haven't changed my diet or eaten anything weird, drank anything weird, etc.

I am not on any antibiotics anymore. It was just for a week after the procedure. I did not masturbate for about 11 or 12 days and the first time I did it, the semen was extremely yellow which makes sense due to all that was going on in that area on top of not masturbating for nearly 2 weeks. It has gone down in color lately but still maintains that yellow and kinda gets globby. I used to shoot everywhere and now it kind of just oozes out and then a big portion of it is stuck on the base of the penis and I have to really wipe it off. It's just bizarre.

The main reason why I am concerned is because these problems were taking place before the surgery so that is why to me it feels like what they found was actually a 2nd problem that I didn't know about and there is still another one.

I guess sometimes I just get shy in going to the doctors and talking about this kind of stuff. Before the last year or two, I hadn't been to the doctors in years and years. I just got my first physical in December 2016 and that was the first time in like 8 years so I've been really trying to focus on my health and stuff now and I just keep getting worried about what is wrong and freaking out.



So should I not be thinking this is a STI? There's no bumps or anything in that region, no discharge, no blood, no fevers/chills, etc. But I'm just so stumped as what else it could be. I have no reason to suspect STI but it's just baffling

I suspect it is protatitis, an inflammation of the prostate. Check it in the internet and see if the symptoms fit. In any event this or even STDs are well within the expertise of the urologist, so trust him.

You might ask your doctor to test prostatic fluid. In cases like this where the urine is clear but there's signs of prostatitis, it's one more possibility to eliminate. Although not all prostatitis is due to infection- in some cases of chronic prostatitis, no bacteria is isolated.

That's not uncommon after urological surgery. It is sometimes a temporary effect from the swelling of the urethra and the sphincters that control genitourinary function.

Out of curiosity, did they put you on FloMax or Rapaflo after the surgery?

It may have started as a UTI. The most common bacteria that trigger UTIs are not STIs- they are infections of bacteria from the anus that make their way into the the urethra. This can happen without any sexual activity or it can happen from anal sex without a condom. Chances are that between all of the antibiotics that you've had, any infection of your bladder or urethra is long gone.

Because you have been through a urological surgery, your penis, urethra, prostate and bladder have been traumatized by having instruments passed into your bladder. It's going to be a few weeks before the swelling is gone and things get back to normal.

Well, it has been another 3 months and things are still the same-ish.

I tried over and over to bring up stuff about the prostate but no one seems to think it is that. I asked about tested semen, no one would do it. My semen has gone back to a more standard color now. I do not really notice much yellow-ness, so that's good. Everyone is completely sure it is with my bladder.

In April I went through 6 weeks of a rescue solution which was inserting medicine direction into my bladder once a week to try and help.

They also gave me a myrbetriq medicine which seems to be helping more to keep me from going too much. But there is still some pain when I go. I also take a medication for that.

I was also tested for STI's in March since I posted and nothing showed up with that either.

I am supposed to go back in next monday for another test to look inside my bladder now :/

Since you are seeing a urologist he is the best qualified to help you. But it is clear now that there is nothing serious or dangerous. I continue to believe that it is psychosomatic, induced by your fear and worry, and frequent attention to it. It is part of a larger problem of hypochondria. Have you tried consulting a psychologist or pshychiatrist?
