PalacePaul Appreciation Thread

Good Sunday evening, Paul! (*8*)

It sounds like you're having fun with your hiking group. There seems to be lots of sites and ruins around Barcelona, with those abandoned windmills, country houses, Roman ruins, etc. Lots of places to explore will keep things interesting.

Good evening, Frankie and John (*8*) I hope you have a good weekend.

Gracias Frankie. Ya veo que te gustan esos hombretones fuertes y barbudos. ¡A mi me encantan!

John, that's true. You can't even imagine how many things there are! We have been building and abandoning things for millenia (not kidding), so you can find anything, from iron age settlements to art déco houses. Just today I learned there are some iberian remains not far from home! I'll never see everything o_O
I want to visit this place soon.

It's just me, but I think topiary is weird. Plants should look like plants, not animals or toys or people.
But I still think I'd like that garden. I'd find everything else beautiful.
Fall is here, but it's still warm and sunny. Things are still blooming. Pictures to come later.

Have a wonderful week!

I had to buy a new computer with Windows11 (since my old Windows10 is becomng obsolete).
I've been on it for 10 minutes and the change isn't traumatic...

Hi Michael! How are you?

Good Saturday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

The Santa Clotilde Gardens look beautiful and spectacular, overlooking the Mediterranean.

I hope everything is going well with you, and that something interesting is coming up with your organ playing.

Good evening Thad and John. I hope you have a good weekend (*8*)
Yesterday I attended my cousin's wedding. The day was sunny and the place looked beautiful. I enjoyed most of it, but at some point it was boring. They put on too much of a show with the presents, speeches and so on.

Hola Paul , la boda suena interesante con lo del clima y la belleza del lugar , eso si , es bastante aburrido cuando se extienden en " numeritos " de discursos prolongados

Espero que tengas una agradable nueva semana

Good Sunday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

That sounds like a nice wedding, though if they make too big a production out of it, it can get boring. A good wedding reception consists of the bride and groom cutting the cake, having a dance, making a toast, and then making a quick exit while all the guests are eating, drinking, and partying.

BTW, how is your Yucca elephantipes doing? You should be seeing some results by now.

Good evening (*8*)

Maybe you have that kind of wedding in the US but certainly not in Spain :ROFLMAO:
First we had the ceremony at the village church. Then we went to their house (only a few minutes walk) for the reception. When the couple arrived, they started serving food. Much later we got seated at the tables for the main course. (Thankfully they had arranged the tables wisely, I was sitting with my parents, uncles, a cousin and his wife.) After that came the dessert. After that came the cake, which they cut with lots of applause. Finally came the speeches: 3 friends + 3 friends + 2 sisters. That was definitely too much. After that they got the big present: a trip to Los Angeles. And finally they anounced the start of the party with music and more drinks. I still had to take a few more pictures with family :cautious: before I could say goodbye to everyone and leave.
And despite all that, we weren't a big crowd and things were quite simple.
I had made a point of looking my best and I think I did a good job. Some of the men had a terrible sense of style

Have a Cool New Week Paul

Good Monday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

You sure look dapper in that suit! :luv2:I hope everything is going well for you. I would think that you will have to get into the Advent and Christmas music soon.

Good evening Frankie and John (*8*)

Thank you, John. It felt good wearing this suit.
I'm thinking about Christmas music but I have more things to do before that. We have a mass on Wednesday morning (it's an old tradition: Saint Narcissus, the patron saint of the city), and on the weekend it's All Saints and the day of the Dead.

Frankie, te deseo mucha suerte en este momento importante. Confío que todo saldrá bien.

Good Sunday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I hope you're doing well with the St. Narcissus day and All Saints Day and Day of the Dead celebrations. You no doubt had plenty of organ playing. And next, you'll have to start preparing for Advent and Christmas.

Good evening, John (*8*)

All went well. They are actually easy masses.
Next week I'm starting to work seriously on the Christmas season.
