John I think it's the opposite. Around the age of 8-10 girls are chatty, they ask a lot of questions and tell you a lot of funny stories, whereas boys tend to be more quiet and focused. But every kid is different.

Oh, don't roll your eyes. There are Americans named Pablo who aren't even Hispanic (for example, the actor Pablo Schreiber), so it's not impossible that there are Spaniards named Paul. And I'm sure there are guys in Catalonia named Pablo. (I presume that before 1975, Pau wouldn't even have been a legal option.)

By the way, you mentioned that you prefer Madrid to Barcelona. What is it that you like more about Madrid (or dislike more about Barcelona)?
 
You are right LMP, I remember two Spanish Pauls, but their families had foreign origins.

I've only been to Madrid a few times on trips, but I've been to Barcelona thousands of times for school or work so my perception is completely different. My perception is that Barcelona is dirtier, more noisy and I don't like the people very much.

Hi Dan, so you know some Spanish? For me Castillian is the standard Spanish but there are many other dialects
 
It kinda sounds like they have a lisp. :rolleyes: The C always sounds like a TH. I forgot most of it from never using it. :##: We mostly have Cubans and Mexicans here in Florida.
