PalacePaul Appreciation Thread

Good evening Rob, Frankie, Loner and John (*8*)

Today I spent the day in Barcelona with my friend. We went to the beach but there were big waves and it was quite uncomfortable. We had lunch in a good restaurant. Then we visited the street decorations in the old Gracia district. It was a good time altogether.

Good Thursday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I hope everything is going well for you, and that your trips to the organ academy and archeology seminar were wonderful. And I hope you enjoy being with your new friend.
The organ academy starts on Monday :)

Good evening, Paul. (*8*) I’m glad you had a great day out in Barcelona, and I hope you are sleeping well tonight.

I’m okay, and had a day in Scarborough, on the east coast of England. I’ll soon be in bed.

Hi Paul! I'm long overdue for a visit here. Of course I still luv ya!

One more day for me in Chicago. I'm going to Cubs baseball today at Wrigley Field, vs the awful Kansas City Royals. Baseball is wonderfully unpredictable, so here's hoping for a good game. It will be fun no matter what.

Then a final night of carousing. I fly home just before noon Saturday.

I'm glad your life is full of interesting events. Enjoy your weekend.

Hey Paul! (*8*)

I heard you'd rather have tulips in your organ, than roses on your piano.

Good evening Frankie, Rob, Thad and Dan. Thank you for posting (*8*)

Rob I hope you enjoyed your day in Scarborough and you had a good sleep.
Thad I hope you enjoyed your trip to Chicago and had lots of fun. I guess you're travelling back right now. I wish you a safe trip.
Dan that baby is really cute, but I'd rather have a real man ;)

Oh, Paul -- speaking of old organs (the ones with keyboards, guys!), do you know Catalina Vicens and/or Guillermo Pérez? Not necessarily know them personally, but know of them? I'm a fan of both.

I've heard about Catalina Vicens, not Guillermo Pérez. Not my kind of music, really.

I'm home! Slept through most of my flight.

Hope your Saturday is interesting!
Hey! I hope you had enough rest after the trip.

This morning I played the organ at the cathedral. A German organist came to visit.
I'm leaving tomorrow morning for the organ academy. Hopefully I'll have some study time between lessons.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend (*8*)

Good Tuesday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I hope you're having a wonderful time at the organ academy, and that it will be fun and informative for you.

I don't play, but I love a good organ concert!

They used to have good ones at, of all places, Dickinson High School in Delaware. I'll never figure how an ordinary public school got an organ world-class artists gladly played...but it was a treat.

Probably the place has an unusually good instrument.

Similarly, there's this little musical performance space on the grounds of some rich lady's estate just outside of Wilmington. (That's in Delaware, guys, and about a 40-minute drive from Philadelphia. And it's where President Biden's home is.) She gets some of the world's greatest harpsichordists to come and give concerts there -- because she collects old harpsichords and has some very good and rare instruments that those musicians want to play.

Good afternoon everyone.
The organ academy was good. We had 28 active students plus 2 listeners this year, which is too much (many of them come back every year). We had too little teaching time for everyone :(
I had free time to practice and read every day.
Dealing with so many people everyday is stressful. Thank God it's over

I hope you had a good week and enjoy this weekend.

Welcome back!

What the best thing you heard? And what was the best thing you played?

Thank you!
We had a young student playing an anonymous piece from the 1920s, very interesting.
I didn't play much, I'm the teacher
