PalacePaul Appreciation Thread

Good Thursday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

Well, next week is going to be showtime for you, starting with Palm Sunday and going through Holy Week, until the big day on Easter. I'm sure you'll do well. BTW, how did your concert go?

Hello Frankie, Loner, RM and John. Thank you for being still here (*8*)

John, my concert last Sunday went really well actually. There were quite a lot of people in the audience and I had a good time playing. I really liked the pieces I played, specially those of Schumann and Massana (a Catalan composer).

Oh, yes! The big days start tomorrow (!). My favorite holiday is Maundy Thursday though.

I hope everyone has a good week!

Good evening RM, Frankie and Thad (*8*)

Frankie estuve en Santiago de Compostela hace 20 años y es impresionante.
Thad you're right, the Passion season has amazing music.

Good Maundy Thursday, Paul! (*8*)

It's showtime for you this Holy Week, with all the services over the next few days. You said that you especially enjoy the Maundy Thursday performances. Now all that work and preparation and practice will pay off.

Happy Easter!

I was out to dinner last night, with four friends. The meal was OK but the restaurant is known for seafood. I had chicken. Next time I'll get fish.

I fly to Nashville next Sunday! I love Music City. There are so many places to enjoy live music with lunch. I go to a hockey game on the 9th. The arena is across from honky-tonks, and it's such fun.

Good evening everyone! Happy Easter (*8*)

It's been a busy week for sure, honestly it's harder than I expected. On Thursday evening the mass was beautiful, we sang that old 17th centuy hymn which is very rare. Friday was ok. The Easter Vigil was also beautiful, yet exhausting. Today was the last one, thank God.

Also on Friday night I went to see the procession, which I hadn't seen in 15 years. There's a tradition here that the procession opens with a group of men dressed as Roman soldiers (representing the ones who crucified Jesus), that's a very popular attraction. Imagine a group of 100+ guys parading on the streets showing their legs... definitely worth seeing

I hope you had a good week and a happy Easter day.
Thad, enjoy your trip to Nashville!

Good Easter Monday evening, Paul! (*8*)

I'm sure you're glad to be done with all the Holy Week performances, though I'm sure you enjoyed playing the beautiful music. I suspect you're taking the day off and resting.

From what I've seen, apparently Spain has some very elaborate celebrations and commemorations around the Passion and Crucifixion. I'm sure it's very spectacular to be there, and the eye candy certainly added to the enjoyment.

Yes, but they are all different. Here in northern Spain the processions and representations are usually simpler and austere. I remember when i was a kid they used to walk in silence, now they have some music bands marching, too.
Look at the soldiers:

Hola Paul

Good Friday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I take it you've had a chance to rest up a bit after all the Holy Week performances. Well, at least until you have to start getting ready for the next performances.

Good Thursday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I hope you've been having a great week. So, after the Holy Week and Easter festivities, I suppose you may not have a lot to do right now. Hope you're all rested up, and that you have more projects and performances coming up.

I'm sorry, John, but you were terribly wrong :ROFLMAO:
On Friday we celebrated the choir's anniversary with a conference and a small concert.
Today we had a rehearsal for the next big event: the new bishop's inauguration mass next Sunday.
And I realise the people aren't as good as I thought... :cautious:
