PalacePaul Appreciation Thread

Good evening, John (*8*)
Today's wedding was an easy one. They were simple people, no pretentions at all. Also it was in the cathedral, so I didn't have to drive.
Before the ceremony started I could see a young photographer changing his t-shirt behind a door. Nice body he had :p
Only one more before the summer...

Good Friday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I hope you're doing well, and that you're getting some wedding gigs or whatever to keep you busy. Maybe you can get one of those hot young photographers.

Good night Frankie and John (*8*)

Weddings are finally over for now. I expect a few more at the end of summer.
I keep myself busy helping the boys at the organ society. We are making a big database with every piece played in every one of our concerts for the last... 45 years

Today I had lunch with my parents plus a friend and his mom who recently came from a travel to Paris. That was actually much more pleasant than we expected.

Yesterday I visited my cousin to discuss music with him, because he's getting married, too. I always enjoy visiting that big country house and spending time with my little cousin. We've been very close since childhood. Now at 38 he's still kind of a spoiled kid

That organ piece database is a nightmare

I hope you're having a good week (*8*)

Hola Paul , el verano ya comienza oficialmente ... espero que tengas un buen finde, tengo la misma edad que tu primo , es bonito tener una relacion cercana con un primo que surgio desde la niñez .

Cuidate , disfruta

Good Sunday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I'm glad you could meet with your country cousin to discuss organ music for his wedding. That should be a good occasion.

Archiving all that organ music in the church sounds like a tremendous undertaking. Just take it one piece at a time, and it'll just take however long it takes to do it.

But the deadline is July 9 :bartshock

It's been very hot these days.
Yesterday when I took out the trash I found a plant and I took it. It's a Yuca elephantipes and I think I can save it.
Today I saw another one of my cousins along with his family.

Good Wednesday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I hope you're doing OK, I just heard that Spain and the rest of Europe are having extreme heat right now. That Yuca elephantipes should do very well for you. I have a cluster of them in my yard that I rooted years ago, and they're now over 10 feet tall, and bloom every summer. They root easily, and you don't really have to give it much care. Of course it might behave a bit differently if you keep it in a pot indoors.

Well, I guess you'd better get busy archiving all those organ pieces. I'm glad you have cousins that you can visit.

Good Sunday night Paul, it's probably Monday morning in Spain by now. (*8*)

I take it that you've archived all those organ pieces, since the deadline has already passed. Do you have any more weddings that you have to play for?

Hi Paul!
Next Wednesday I'm planning to go to Atlantic City for some organ!
Long ago, Boardwalk Hall was also used for minor-league ice hockey. The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies won the Kelly Cup in 2005, but it's a small market and the team left within two years.

Good morning John and Thad (*8*)

John, I finished the job on time. The database contains over 2.700 pieces. Now we have to list the particular pieces played in every particular concert, but since we already missed July 9th we don't have a further deadline

That, I'm sure you'll enjoy this trip. Vintage cars and giant organs? I'd definitely join you :)
I remember reading that in the mid 20th century the biggest organs in the US (Atlantic City and the Wanamaker) were both played by women.

Good Saturday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I hope you've been able to take it easy, now that all those organ pieces have been archived. Have you got anything new coming up?

Good Saturday morning, John (*8*)

I spent the whole morning outdoors. There's a new LGBT+ hiking group here (the thing we've been waiting for years!) and the guy in charge has plenty of ideas. Today we walked 9 km close to the sea. The walk was hard with lots of ups and downs and some rocky areas, but overall it was good. We ended at the beach and had lunch.

Next week I'm taking a few vacation days. I'm not playing a single note

I hope you enjoy the weekend :)

Hi Paul!

I did go to Atlantic City for the car show & organ festival. They had tours of the organ shop...the restoration is ongoing and the instruments are currently 73% functional. The Kimball is more complete. It still sounds amazing!

Some photos;

Good Wednesday afternoon, Paul! (*8*)

I hope you're enjoying going out on excursions with your hiking group. I believe your area of Spain has lots of rugged terrain with mountains, so there should be plenty of challenging trails. I hope your Yucca plant is doing well.
