Paladino Attacks Gays in Brooklyn Speech

And yet we get mad with each other when we show hate for our enemies. Our survival is going to be very low if we don't start becoming as cold hearted as our enemy. Despite a few people, this world will never be a gay friendly and the faster we put that in our heads, the better off we will be.
 
Mr. Paladino declined a request to be interviewed after his appearance. His campaign manager, Michael R. Caputo, denied assertions that Mr. Paladino was antigay, and noted that he employed a gay man on his campaign staff.

“Carl Paladino is simply expressing the views that he holds in his heart as a Catholic,” Mr. Caputo said in a telephone interview. “Carl Paladino is not homophobic, and neither is the Catholic Church.”

I usually stay out of the political arena here at JUB for obvious reasons.

But this guy is off his rocker....

I am ashamed to call Paladino a Western New Yorker (he's from Buffalo).

His commercials on local TV are ridiculous!

He accuses Andrew Cuomo of hiding the fact that he has a child out of wedlock, well so does Carl Paladino.

He says that he wants to make changes and cuts in spending in Albany. As a private developer, he took millions of dollars in state funding!

Andrew Cuomo, as New York's attorney general, brought down a philandering governor (Eliot Spitzer), and a crooked comptroller (Alan Hevesi), both in his own party.

I don't know if he's the answer to fix New York State's perpetually dysfunctional government (it has ALWAYS been a mess, dating back to the 1700s), but he's looking a heck of a lot more gubernatorial than Carl Paladino is right now.

Okay, you will hear no more from me on this. Sir Ron goes back to being non-political as of NOW......

The guy's got brass ones, I'll give him that.

Let's see, he JUST said that children should not be taught that homosexuals and their "lifestyles" are normal, and that marching in a gay pride parade is something he would never do because that would send and create the "wrong image".

But, now... We are not to misquote him as wanting to hurt homosexuals in any way. After all, not wanting to tell children that homosexuals are normal folks and that they should not be represented as normal in any way is something that is taken SO out of context as it would be construed as a dastardly lie.

I've learned to silently suffer fools like him a long time ago, but the fact that he is on a national ticket for public office chills me to the bone.

As the race entered its final weeks, supporters of the senior Mr. Cuomo plastered predominantly Italian sections of Brooklyn and Queens with posters that declared, “Vote for Cuomo, not the Homo.”

Both Cuomos denied being involved in or aware of the posters’ creation — claims that gay advocates, and Mr. Koch himself, found difficult to believe.

The only reason Paladino has gotten as far as he has is becuase of that Caputo guy. Paladino himself is barely able to put a sentence together. It's Caputo that does the schmoozing in the public events. Paladino is a thug. I have gotten stuck waiting on his narrowminded constituents and listening to his stuttering monotonous speeches on several occasions.

And they're assholes. And Democrats are fighting them. And they are a minority of the Dem voice in the area. That's a good thing, because let's be clear: Dems aren;t heroic leaders on gay issues.

But Paladino is scum.

The NY State GOP put forth Paladino to represent them. They like him.

Being a homophobic bigot is not a "successful option" if you intend to be governor of one of the most diverse states in the world.

He would have been much better off if he had not been so blatantly homophobic. He is the one who is brainwashed.

Until the people of the United States get the Church out of the Government, this is going to continue. There can be no equality when the nation is governed by a single religion.
 
I just saw him interviewed on the news. Apparently he "omitted" words that talked about homosexuality being dysfunctional. When grilled by the media, he said he had no idea how the words got into the speech in the first place; that it wasn't his staff that wrote them. WTF...he just lets anyone write a speech and slip it in front of him? Yeah...right.

He also talked about the short shorts and rubbing of guys at a Canadian Pride event. Looking at the guy, he could probably pull the bags from under his eyes and skip any shorts but, then again, who would want to see him naked?

The guy's a nut, a liar, and thug....
