"Paranormal Acitivity" Movie [merged]

Re: "Paranormal Acitivity" Movie Trailer

Sheesh, what a drama queen. Thanks, you've convinced me to go see this movie. If someone like you hated this movie, then that means I could only love it...|

Well then step away from your PC and go see it and stop worrying about what I think...When you see it, come back and give your opinion like everyone else in this thread..Is that so hard for you to do?

This is your 2nd posting in this thread and you've contributed NOTHING but ignorance..

^ Yea I was home without my roommates this weekend after I saw it as well. That is when you start to think about it and get really scared.

It was so funny though when the psychic showed up the second time and was like "screw you guys, you're on your own."

this movie freaked me out!!!

my family went out of town this past weekend so i was alone and OMG!!! I had all the lights on and all the doors closed except mine and couldn't sleep at all.

For me, to not get spoiled i didn't watch any trailers just heard about it and i'm glad i did that cause the expier. for me was insane.

I will also add that this movie is more suspenseful than scary and i think people should actually get into the movie instead of trying to analyze it to be scared. You'll be more entertained than bored.

My friend said the movie was "gay", but i think he was hiding being scared to express his macho manness. But i'm sure there are people who thought it was just dumb.

Awesome! :=D:

Thanks. ..|

I just watched for free on the internet. I was disappointed to say the least. A door slamming and loud footsteps? Not scary. The best part was in the last 15 minutes,. that's it. I guess if I would have seen it in a crowded theater I would have had the bonus of hearing the crowd scream but I watched it alone in the dark and I still wasn't scared. It was creepy but did not live up to the hype. See this with no expectations and maybe you'll like it.

I saw it on Saturday in a full theater. I can see how seeing this movie alone with no one else reacting around you could make it seem not scary...but as people said earlier in the thread, I really think that being in a theater full of people is part of what makes this movie freaky. It sounds weird, but the collective mood of the audience plays a part in the perception of the movie, I think.

That said, I'm still not going into any dark rooms in my place up to this point. I'm still just a tad freaked out by the thing. :)

You cant watch this on a computer. You have to watch it in the theater or at your house in on a big screen with surround sound.

I *illegally* downloaded this movie yesterday and it took ages to download but it was well worth the wait.

I didn't think there were that many really scary bits in the film and didn't think I was that affected by it until I woke up panicking last night because I was sure a ghost was in the bedroom!

It's not really like the blair witch project as there are more scares along the way with this. The only comparison is the fact that it was filmed on a very small budget.

The bit where Katie gets dragged out the room is the scariest thing i've seen.

Yeah its leaked online. I'm planning on watching it maybe later tonight or tomorrow. I don't waste money on buying movie tickets anymore when you can watch them online for free these days.

damn, you should have called me up! i would have protected you lol

I would be interested in knowing if the version leaked online is the one currently playing in theaters. There are apparently at least three different endings, and speculation is that on the eventual dvd they might release the others as well.

From what I have read, the current popular leaked version is not the same. It is a DVD screener which is the version before Spielberg had the ending changed for the better theater version. I hear the other endings sucked.

From what I've read, the previous endings were all very "Blair Witch" in nature. Basically, the viewer left not knowing what happened.

The ending in the theater at least offers one last scare.

Here are the known alternate endings from Wikipedia:

Alternate versions
The ending attached to the theatrical version of the film was suggested by Steven Spielberg.[5] Several blogs and news outlets[who?] are reporting that the ending currently being seen in theaters for the limited screenings does not match endings previously seen in earlier screenings at Screamfest and the Burbank screening.
The original ending, as attached to the video sent to potential distributors, has Katie returning to the bedroom, after the struggle heard downstairs, wielding a knife and having blood on her tank top. She sits next to the bed and rocks back and forth throughout the remainder of the following day. Her friend Amber arrives the next night and flees the house upon discovering Micah's body downstairs. When two police officers arrive, Katie comes out of her catatonic state and approaches them. The officers instruct her to drop the knife and shoot her after a confused Katie fails to do so. The film ends with the officers discovering the running camera. A frame from this ending has emerged online.[6] The scenes involving the broken picture frame in the theatrical version replaced a scene in the original version in which Micah determines through the video footage that the entity spelled "Diane" on the Ouija board. Searching the internet, he finds a story about a girl named Diane who, decades earlier, had experienced a haunting similar to Katie's, and then died after chewing off her own arm during a botched exorcism.[7]
Another alternate ending shows Katie returning to the bedroom with the knife and slitting her own throat in front of the camera. The version of the film with this ending was shown at only one public viewing.[5][6][7]

OK! The ending in the Theater is much scarier than the one I saw. That was creepy.

The theatrical ending is much better than the original. The theatrical one was terrifying, especially those few seconds after you hear the footsteps coming up the stairs and before Michah's body is thrown at the camera.

I just got back from the theater. I think I am more frightened here in the dark alone typing this, then I was watching the movie. That's the type of horror this movie instills. First it gets a hold of you and then lingers. Much like the demon in the movie.

It was interesting to experience the mixed reactions in the theater. Most were unnerved, some were laughing, a few pretended to sound like they didn't like it. But from what I could tell, everyone as a whole was entertained more than most any other movie I have been to. I don't think it is the scariest movie I have seen, but definitely among the most effective.

I went and saw this movie last night with my fh.

I want my god damned nine dollars and fifty cents back.

The only thing that I thought was even remotely scary about this movie is when the "demon" dragged her out of her bed.

That's it.

That's all.

I am so mad that I hyped myself up for this movie, thinking it would be on par with The Exorcist. What a waste of time, money, and breath.

But hey, good on ya Hollywood - cost you $15,000 to make, and it's bringing in millions and millions of dollars. What an investment return!

god I'm still so pissed about this shite......
