Pasta: The World's Favourite Food

Please pass me some gnocchi, self-inflicted. Is it greedy of me to ask for a couple pumpkin and a couple ricotta?

Not at all, mate, pumpkin ones go specially well with garlic, oil, basil and some reggian cheese grated on top ;)

Ricotta gnoccis are easy as fuck to make. knead together 3 parts of ricotta (strain away some of its liquid first) and two of flour with an egg, salt and nutmeg. You could add some spoonfuls of cheese or some pinches of herbs into the mix too ;) Don't start using all of the flour, reserve some of it to work the dough :)

make dough strips and cut dices.... you can even give them a fancy look by pressing and dragging them quickly against a fork ..|

I think the average person has pasta once a week, so if they balance it with healthier choices on the other days, it's no big deal. I hate it when the nutrition nazis get on their high horses.

This reminds me of the most delicious meal I ever had...lobster ravioli, served in Pigeon Forge, Tennesse no less. It was like dying and going to heaven.

yeah, that tendency of telling people to avoid certain foods like plague isn't any good. If only cooking and nutrition looked at each other more...

and mate, that dish sounds delicious... Pasta does go reaaaaally well with seafood.

sigh i wish i could eat pasta all the time:P... i love all sorts of pasta penne, spaghetti but my favorite would be fettucine :).. yummy great now by watching this thread i'm hungry :P..

When I was a kid and ill, my folks me spaghetti or macaroni, but boiled in sugary water. It was nice, but I wouldn't eat it as an adult.

I recently found out about a german noodle pudding. If anyone has tried it, please let me know how it is. Corny?
