Guess what happens when the State of Illinois is out of debt, and the tax increases are "cut" back to what they were before the budget shortfall?

Prosperity!

Everybody took a hit, and everyone had to pay.

And in the LONG TERM everyone benefits. ..|

Sounds like the Democrats were being responsible leaders!

But we are talking about Illinois.

Like a typical Democrat, Quinn is more interested in raising revenue than cutting spending. So in the end, you're back where you started.

And if you're up to it check out Steamworks, it's right on Halstead! :sex:

Shame on you for leading him into that den of iniquity... [-X

I was so shocked when I saw naked men having sex with each other in that building I had to go back over and over again.....

Fantastic! Now we're getting somewhere with the direction of this thread! *|*

I'd be interested to know how far Illinois has come to paying off their debt and balancing their budget.

The Governor promised this prior to get elected, and said that it would be temporary.

I'll believe it when I see it. All we hear around here is how much money the state (still) owes the schools from past years, how much they owe from the current year, and how much trouble the government still is. Quinn has broken promises before, and I have no reason to believe he has any intention of getting rid of the tax increase.

So in other words; we're no better off now than we were before, but now we're paying more for the privilege of being worse off.
