The thing about Mac is that they have joined the rest of the world and put 32 bit intel arch processors in their machines which means... for the most part, that windows will happily run on it. Do as suggested and use bootcamp and you aren't locked in to one system at all. In fact, linux will run on it to. Mac is actually the red-headed stepchild that refuses to be flexible when it comes to hardware. Just be sure to get the best graphics chipset and most memory you can afford. I hate to say it but you really do pay a premium for the apple logo and that can cut into your performance budget significantly.
