Hello all,

I am in dire need of a new computer. I mainly love to play computer games on it (WoW, warhammer, starcraft, sims 3, and soon hopefully Diablo 3 :P, which leads me to PC) but i hear such good things about Mac and most games i would play would be Mac. I also heard that mac can run windows?

Anyone with some experience or knowledge want to give me any insight. Thanks in advanced. Again this will primarily be a gaming PC :P

I'm looking to spend around 2000 give or take.

Macs can run Windows, and I am a Mac user and love it, but for a gaming PC I would still go with Windows for better hardware choices.

For gaming, I would go for a PC.

Mac's can run Windows, but for gaming, go PC.

orrr what hotlatboi said.

I have a PC at home #-o, and work with MAC's in "The Kingdom", the third largest commercial printing company on the planet. Our MAC's at work run Windows through Citrix, for business/accounting purposes. But for graphic applications, NOTHING beats a MAC! ..|

I'm not an avid gamer, but given my experience with MAC's, vs. PC's, I'd go with a MAC any day! Much more reliable, and FAR more user friendly!! In my book, MAC's RULE!!! (!w!)

Now I'm waiting for my PC (HP Media Center), to finally die while out of warranty! (It's died twice while in warranty!) When it finally does ... I'm popping for a MAC, no matter what it costs!!! (group)

Keep smilin'!!(*8*)
Chaz ;)

I use Macs and PCs every day, depending on what I'm doing, and my general preference these days is for the Mac. I'm currently playing the Mac version of Call Of Duty 4 and it works really well - I get better frame rates on my MacBook Pro than I do an a mid-spec'd Dell PC running it on Windows.

All the games you mention are available as either native Mac or PC applications (Warhammer currently in Mac Beta, Diablo 3 to be released for both platforms simultaneously). You can also run all of them reliably at respectable specs using an Apple Bootcamp installation of Windows.

If you are a die hard gamer who always wants the latest video card, liquid cooled computer chassis and 250 fps display rates, buy a high-end PC. But if you want a reliable, well built machine that can run games very respectably and give you the combined benefits of both Windows and Mac OS's, you need a Mac. (Don't buy the entry-level white MacBook - they suck!)

The new MAC OS is due out next month and is going to 64. That and the digital screen support that windows lacks makes the decision easy. Get the big Imac

Ummm, Windows does support digital screens, and has been 64bit since forever.

I converted to mac a few years ago and if either of them died I would go straight out and buy another. That said if you are into computer pimping as others have mentioned, you should go for a PC. If you are into reliability, good performance and ease of use and can live without the hyper threaded, megga mode, dual power injected turbofan graphics card then I would recommend the Mac. All my friends and family who have converted love it.

Macs are PCs!

Your question should be if you should go with Windows or MacOS.

Anyway, if you are a gamerlamer, go with Windows. With Macs you're limited to the overpriced hardware that Apple gives you.

WINDOWS XP, BBY. ;)

BANG for your BUCK: Microsoft > Apple.

because it uberpwnz.

okay I'll shut up now.

Here's a fairly unbiased comparison of Windows 7 vs Mac's snow Leopard - both to be released in the next few months:

Just so you know before you try to sound so cocky, both may be computers but windows is commonly refered to as PC.

If you don't think so I advise you to take a look at youtube.com/watch?v=lgzbhEc6VVo

It only a multi million dollar ad campaign which refers to all windows as PC.

Ahem. A PC is a computer, but not every computer is a PC.
Mac OS used to run on PPCs (power pcs) but it doesn't any more. The new "macs" are PCs, x86 Architecture too. Mac OS X "Snow Leopard" won't even run on a PPC anymore.
Don't rely on advertisements to use the correct terms

The only thing I stated was that a computer with windows is commonaly called a PC. When you ask most people PC or Mac they will understand what you mean. But Thank you for the wonderful fact of the day.
