I'm lucky enough to have a friend who is a great Podiatrist. He will take care of a minor callus and takes care of my toenails as well. And he massages my feet with some kind of lotion at the end that smells good . All covered by my insurance. No charge to me.

Top that. :)

I'm watching the years and wondering when I will reach the age when I need a podiatrist. Even slim guys still have a difficulty in turning the foot to be able to get the angle right to cut the nails, and one foot is easier than the other due to hand dominance. I'm prepared as a single man to pay for that when it becomes necessary.

I remember when Grandmother was in the nursing home and there was a periodic charge for "debridement," which was about $75 then, which was 20 years ago. Seemed like the rest of the predatory practices that flock to federal benefits.

I can still do my nails without difficulty...although my sore back reminded me that eventually I also may need to have a podiatrist/pedicurist help with my feet.

The best way I find is to plant my foot on the toilet lid which makes bending much easier and allows better visibility.

I had my toenails clipped once at a nail solon. Since I gained weight I have trouble, but usually am still able to do my own. I don't remember what it cost, but it wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be and I may have tipped her as well.

I went to my family practice clinic for a couple of years (but not for the last 2 years) and a nurse practitioner does foot care. I was insurance qualified to go since i had diabetes at the time. I didn't go because I couldn't cut the nails or couldn't see any cuts/infections but because after loosing the nails on both big toes due to an accident...the nails were growing back and trying to become ingrown. I thought maybe having a professional cut them would help them grow back properly. But untimately I just needed for the "'new" nails to fully grow and be fulling attached to the new nail bed (skin under the nail). That took years for that fresh nail bed to form and push out all the tuff dried skin. I'm been cutting my own for the last couple of years.

The office call charge was $75 before insurance. I paid about $20 each visit. I'm pretty sure the charge this year is around $100.

This is the body part of which I am the least proud. I need a pedicure and have no idea where to start to get one.
I'll continue with the clippers and scissors, I guess.

I have a plantar wart that ive been battling for 7 years so havent had a pedicure since then, been taking care of it myself. Going to be trying a new wart treatment hopefully it will finish this fucking thing and ill be able to go get a good pedicure!
