I've also heard that it's recommended to pee after sex. I think it was more for girls than guys, but still it helps prevent Urinary tract infections, as well as others?

Not necessarily. Urine is an antiseptic fluid, and has the effect of lavaging the urethra, which accounts for the much lower incidence gonorrhea and clamydia infections in men. In the past, soldiers were routinely admonished to clean out the pipes after a trip to the cat house.

This practice might date back to the time of that enlightened (American/Union) Civil War general Fighting Joe Hooker, who thought it might improve the moral of his troops embarked on their great moral crusade to free the slaves by having whores in tow (which many believe may be the origin of the term 'hooker', i.e. 'Hooker's Women') The army would also be able to exercise some control over their health: these women had their vaginal canals routinely cauterized (ouch!)

I've had at least one MD *suggest* peeing after cumming, because (if you had sex without a condom) this reduced the chance of contracting an STI like gonhorrhea (sp? never can remember where all the 'h's go....) Jockboy, you got data that runs counter to that?

After sex is a different story. Yes, after unprotected sex (which I highly discourage outside of long lasting monogomous relationship) peeing is encouraged. It theoretically should help with STIs (although I don't know what the evidence shows to be honest) and it does help with UTIs after anal sex. But it doesn't help with anything if you are just jacking off. Your own semen is not going to get you sick by staying in the pipes.

Partially true. But more importantly, males have a longer urethra than females and so bacteria have to travel further to cause a UTI.

And again, you don't get UTI's just from cumming... but you could get one from cumming into somebody's ass without a condom. In that case, yes, by all means pee afterward.
