I have the same problem, when I came out to my friends, they all told their boyfriends because they (their boyfriends) had a problem with me always hanging around them.
One guy hated me so much, I never saw my friend again, (it's okay, she was a bitch anyway) another guy threatened to kick my ass, but I knew I could beat his, and the other just broke up with my friend. Only because none of them believed I was gay, they all thought I was lying, trying to get closer to my friends so I could be their boyfriends.
Even my brother had trouble, he acts more "gay" than I do, and he had a problem believing me. I laughed so much in my head while telling him because I was waiting for him to say he was gay, but he isn't.
And to the original poster, it's okay if they don't believe you, as long as you are able to face yourself in the mirror and genuinely say to yourself that you are gay, and you love the fact that you are who you are, and a part of you is gay, then that is all the acceptance you will ever need.
Good luck, to all of you, maybe one day this stereotype will be gone, and G-Lexington, that was a swell idea for a shirt, I would totally buy one.
