I think people thought that way long before facebook.

You're entitled to your opinion.

But it never fails. People who dig V Day immediately call those who don't "bitter."

Myself I choose not to celebrate it.

It's my choice.

I'm a little bitter... I'll admit it! I haven't got laid in fifteen years, I have a right ;)

But I think what a lot of people are pushing back against is the overwhelming pressure of Valentine's Day... every retailer and every website you visit is plastered with big red hearts and nauseating cutesiness, all implying that everyone of course has a "special someone" (and if you don't, there's something terribly wrong with you). It's perfectly natural to not only resist such an onslaught of supposed emotion and romantic extortion, but to fight back against it.

Created holidays irritate me, anyway. The whole thing was concocted by florists in the 20s and has nothing to do with anything.

I'm not bitter cause I know it's not as bad as Valentine's Day in Japan.

The holiday was made for intimate couples in mind, so I don't celebrate it even for love in all its different meanings.

Many people believe Valentine's Day is pretty much a useless holiday created to 1) make money, and 2) an attempt to make single people feel like they are inadequate without a steady partner.
