  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

People should be showering NAKED before getting into the public pool!

Hey.

The chlorine in the pool would kill just about anything you can bring in with you.

And you know that the guy just down the way pissed in the pool and that is what you are getting up your nose, don't you?

But I would agree. North Americans have become so prudish about nudity and so afraid that someone is going to laugh at their tiny bits or grab their cock that they can't get comfortable with being in their own skin. I keep waiting for the return of

I don't shower before I swim. thats why they chlorinate and filter the hell out of public pools. And I find it hard to believe that everyone is super sweaty and shit encrusted before they get into the pool

I swim a few times a week at a public pool. It's the first pool I'm ever used that doesn't have signs telling swimmers to shower before entering, so no-one does. I'd be happy to shower naked beforehand if it were a rule but it's not and I'm not convinced it makes much difference either way.

I shower naked (wow!) after my swim and that's enough for me. I know this comes up frequently on JUB, but I find the amount of guys my age and under who are scared of being naked in public incredibly odd.

I will shower before and after swimming and once I get home. I just feel dirty.

I hear you're a dirty old man, but I don't know about the old. J/K

I wouldn't mind doing that if it wouldn't creep the other guys out (brandishes riding crop from out of nowhere) *|*
I'm pretty sure riding crops (and cell phones) aren't allowed in the men's locker room where I go.

I noticed alot of people don't shower at the gym after their sweaty workout.
They shower at home. Therefore i can't see their wee wee.

I believe the shower-pre-swim thing is just to try to rid you of loose dust and hair which might clog the pool filters faster than if you didn't rinse first. Far as I recall, it's not meant to be a full-on clean because you'd do that after the swim.

As usual spot-on , plus it seems to get rid of a lot of the Detritus , and seems to
cut down on the rate of infections , ..|

I don't think I've ever seen a men's change room with shower stalls, never mind curtains. It's just one big open room where everyone showers. Normal.

Actually, showering before getting into a public pool helps with the things that chlorine doesn't kill- particularly cryptosporidium:
CDC - Cryptosporidium - Recreational Water Illness (RWI) - Healthy Swimming & Recreational Water - Healthy Water

Also the same reason we don't want children in diapers in pools, by the way.

From the above link:

"It has a tough outer shell that allows it to survive for a long time in the environment. It can survive for days even in properly chlorinated pools."

Wow, that's a real eye opener. Seems like it'd be tough not to get it, even though you don't swallow any water. As merely licking your lips could result in it's eventual ingestion.

I never swim in pools, because I view them as just large, chlorinated toilet bowls. When I get rich, I'm going to have a large pool installed at my mansion, and it definitely won't be an outdoor pool. Because I'm not going to take any chances on wild animals sneaking in it with their dirty butts for nocturnal swims.

As well, I'll keep the pool room locked up tight with a pick/bump proof deadbolt lock, and anyone who wants to use it will first have to let me soap up his butt in the shower. And by the time I'm done with it, it'll be clean enough to put a small piece of pie between it and slurp it down while we're floating on a large air mattress in the pool. Yummy!

I think swim suits in general should be banned altogether from public pools and beaches. I would much rather sunbathe and swim nude. Not to mention the residue that is in these swim suits.

They would probably feel a lot more comfortable about being naked if they didn't have threads like this...If it's just a shower, fine; if it's an inspection station...yeah...

A pre-swim butt inspection station? Where can I apply for that job??

Are you saying the showering might kill the stuff, or simply wash (most of) it away before it gets into the pool?

Can't imagine a little Nivea Sensitive with Bamboo Milk can do what chlorine water can't, frankly, but I suppose I might be wrong...
