ronboy, I have to agree with you on RC. I also like Dr. Pepper. However, I always buy the store brand diet colas. They are much cheaper and just as good in my opinion.

Thank you Seven Sins! I was starting to think that I was the only one at JUB who prefers Royal Crown over both Coke and Pepsi! :D

I don't drink carbonated beverages much - I much prefer Coke over Pepsi when I do - Cherry Coke! Mostly, I prefer French Roast Coffee, Black, when I'm ingesting caffeine on a regular basis - though I've cut way back.

Pepsi's carbonation drives my nose nuts. Coke is perhaps sweeter/more syruppy because of carbonation difference.

Most of the Carbonated Beverage consumed in our household is store brand - that being W-Pop!

Which brings me to a question for a survey -- Soda or Pop?! LOL I've seen both bat back and forth - surprisingly, we really did call it sodapop growing up for the most part, so I guess I'm bi-when it comes to "carbonated beverages"

Rochester is a "pop" town - hence W-Pop. Go 200 miles east to Albany, and the waiter (OK, he was from Long Island) looked at all the kids on our trip like we were from an alien planet when they asked what kind of "pop" they had -- "you mean 'SODA'?"!

Anybody remember "fizzies" - kind of like a sugary flavoured alkaseltzer - just add water.

They were instant sodapop as kids - "better" than Kool-Aid, cheaper than bottles of sodapop. I wonder how many kids tried to eat them - and if that's why they aren't around anymore?!

Honestly... Americans consume about 250 pounds of High Fructose Corn Syrup every year. HFCS does two things.. it tastes sweet and it causes obesity and diabetes. (I guess that's three.)

Diet colas actually make you fatter. Don't drink any of them, they're just poison.
Diet colas are a big reason I lost 80#. I needed a source of caffeine (can't stand coffee) and the switch from regular coke to diet coke made a huge difference in being able to shed pounds.

Used to love Squirt - or Bitter lemon. Sometimes I make my own by adding ReaLemon to Tonic Water.

Alas, both Pepsi and Coke still use nutrasweet (a proven neurotoxin) in their diet products. As a diabetic, I need to only consume those with no sugar, so it is Diet-rite (which uses Splenda) for me! I always did prefer RC anyway. Also, the Hy-Vee house brand uses Splenda in their diet sodas, so I have tried them and I like them! They have a version of diet Dew that tastes great!

Used to do the the diet rite thing and love their cherry coke flavor but Diet Coke with splenda is the best of all. Can only get it at the grocery though convenience stores and such don't carry it. Pepsi one also uses splenda but it is not even close to as good as the diet coke version. I am allergic to nutrasweet and diabetic so I totally understand. When I was first diagnosed splenda wasn't out quite yet and life was very difficult. I don't know what I would do without it.

OF COURSE I REMEMBER FIZZIES !!

"IT'S A HAPPY FIZZIES PARTY"
i still say that when i walk up to a group of "young people" and they're talking/drinking ..... THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT --

God - DQ - you're OLD !! HAHAHHAHAH !!

When I buy soft drinks, I usually buy Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Canada Dry Ginger Ale, Dr. Pepper, or Sunkist Orange soda.

I don't drink soda but looking at the choices as an investment opportunity, today it seems Pepsi has the edge ...

Pepsi (PEP): $57 per share
Coca-Cola (KO): $49 per share

I am a big fan of all sorts of soda-pop, so I have a more complex answer:

From the fountain: Pepsi
From a can: Coke
From a bottle (glass): Coke
From a bottle (plastic): Pepsi

Diet Pepsi always trumps Diet Coke.

For the newer varieties, I like Coke Zero more than Pepsi One.

I ended up answering Pepsi in the poll.

I hardly drink either myself but I usually have a Coca-Cola product if I get one.

Pepsi.. Just... I don't know.

I'd prefer tea.

I used to always drink pepsi but one day in the middle of a mall there was a table set up and people were asking which do you prefer. after tasting the two side by side I've been hooked on Coke, actually diet coke.

I remember when "Clear Pepsi" was on the market in the 90's..I Loved that drink then it just dropped out of sight...

Pepsi has been in and out of South Africa more times than a cock in a pornstar and manage to go bankrupt here every couple of years before relaunching in a blaze of glory and repeating the cycle.

Even when they're here, though, it's always Coca Cola.

I voted for Coca-Cola because I like Cherry Coke from time to time, but mostly because Sprite is made by Coca-Cola, and I love Sprite!!
