A) The timing doesn't work. The pre-release buzz of BEP's album is done. And their agency and record label would never ok something like this ever.

B) It wouldn't be so divisive. Even in the most extreme bouts of public stunts (Bruno-Eminem) the buzz comes from the silence of both parties...they're not on Twitter hours later trying to say "he started it/he started it". The only stunt being pulled is Perez trying to squeeze media coverage from it.

C) Violence is never involved. Any way you slice it, except in the most obscure rap labels without PR, actual physical violence is not a marketing tool- especially not when it might be prosecuted. Advertising 101. Especially not for high powered bands like the BEPs.

Even the Bruno-Eminem thing didn't have any violence in it (which was the first tell).

Emimen was not in on the Bruno stunt that was done on him. He just claimed he was after it happened so he wouldn't suffer further embarrassment but it's obvious his reaction was real.

I now know who the apparently famous people are who are all upset that Perez doesn't like their song, and I don't like their music either.

I once worked for a site that staged a HUGE big publicity stunt. Pissed off some members, created all sorts of "I hope they all go out of business and go bankrupt" anger from people. Started a controversy that ran for weeks.

And the site membership doubled.

It's just how it works. Getting angry isn't going to change anything.
