And just because it's his "job" to talk shit about people far more attractive, successful, and talented, out celebs, and be an all around asshole - doesn't make him exempt from anything.

His "job" is just as much a part of his lifestyle and a reflection of his horrid character as anyone else's.

Never said it was because he was gay. I'm comparing it to a situation where someone justifies physical violence based on someone's sexuality (they dislike it/don't understand it/etc...)

There are no similarities.

A douchebag got punched for being a douchebag. He wasn't beaten into a coma, he wasn't gaybashed; he's an asshole and finally went a step too far.

It happens at schools, bars all the time.

You don't like violence- bully for you. No one is advocating a vigilante society but for a media whore like this (like 17 twitter posts about one incident) it felt like an "about time".

I would be just as giddy if Bill o'Reilly finally got his.

You're just outraged because he's gay like you. And that's bull.

When you taunt and tease at people, you can push people over the edge to react, yes with a hit.

You keep saying it's "violence"...I hardly believe getting punched is that violent. A black eye heals, but the perception he puts in peoples minds or the affect he does to someone he outs before they can come to terms and come out on their own are far worse than a black eye.

You do sound high and mighty, it's Perez Hilton....I'd appreciate it more if you posted defense to the real innocent people that get hit or beat for no reason other than being gay.

If you go to a club and you trash talk people, chances are high someone is gonna give you a right hook to shut you up. Is it right no? But sometimes it might be ok. Depends on the situation.. and Perez's situation I personally believe he might of deserved it.....that doesn't make me a sick person. It's called opposing views...and you decide because you don't like my view on the incident I'm suddenly a "sick" person........so yeah you come off high and mighty.

I love how you tell me why i'm outraged. I'm not outraged because he is gay. I never even mentioned how serious the physical violence was to a gay person. Not every gay person gets beaten to death so why are you just assuming i'm comparing apples to oranges.

A gay guy gets punched for being gay (you may think he is too flamboyant and another person may think he isn't; it's subjective).

I just happened to compare it to a gay person being punched because this forum has a large gay community and so I figured it would be a good example. I just replaced perez hilton with just another gay guy... or just another human being. I didn't use any specific horrific examples for a reason... because I wasn't comparing it them.

Although I don't condone physical violence, he should have known what was coming. Words are as harmful as punches. It's great and all to not be afraid and stand up. But don't act surprised when you get knocked out for calling someone a faggot, especially when they already are heated.

But hey, if it makes you feel better. I learned something important on the site. Nip/Tuck has sadly been cancelled. One of the best written and acted shows not on HBO or Showtime.
