Do you know who this is?

Her name is Joanna Mendez and this week she's in Seattle for "The Moscow Rules" book tour.

But Jonna Mendez is no ordinary book author, her career with the Central Intelligence Agency began in the 1960's and by the 1990's Jonna became Chief of the Disguise Division.
Jonna became a person of interest when she met privately with President George H.W. Bush in a mask disguise!
When Jonna removed the mask to reveal herself, President Bush practically fell out of his chair.
Remember that back in the 90's Secret Service did not attend the President's private meetings inside the White House.

It would be an understatement to say that today Jonna Mendez is a"Hot Commodity".
She is in very high demand from government, and non-government, entities.

The demand for online internet privacy is child's play compared to the looming threat of real-world surveillance and our loss of individual privacy.
Like Jonna has said before, "when we lose the ability to move through everyday life unnoticed - the quality of our lives will change forever".

When Jonna speaks, she gives us a glimpse into a possible future our parents never imagined.

Riding public transit to work everyday I notice people who draw attention to themselves.
But I'm in awe of people who are just the opposite - the people who seem to move unnoticed everywhere they go.
Some people seem to be invisible in plain sight, yet even these people will not escape the 24/7 surveillance eyes.

I don't think I'm going to be living in a city with cameras like they have in England. I'll side with the terrorists first.

When Jonna speaks, she gives us a glimpse into a possible future our parents never imagined.

She also said something that is no doubt at the root of why many trans people face so much trouble feeling accepted. She said that she can make women into men, but almost never the reverse. That is because it is easier to build up physically than to go the opposite direction.

Even with hormones and treatments, that likely follows MTF trans people, as the human eye is always telling the brain, "that arm is too long" or those hips are not a woman's."

That, of course, doesn't make any observer into a hater or disrespecter but it does make for cognitive dissonance.

If walk by Jonna, and her husband Tony, you would never guess they were CIA operatives. I'm amazed by how ordinary these two appear in contrast to their lives in Central Intelligence.

Imagine the people they've met and the places they've gone. Is their enough disk space in the world to hold all the stories they can tell?
