I would like one of these:

shiba-inu-0009.jpg

Shiba Inu

Origin:
The Shiba Inu is an ancient breed that is considered the smallest and oldest of Japan's canines. It originated in that country's mountainous regions and was first used to hunt large game, though it is currently used for small-game hunting. This diminutive Spitz breed is considered the most popular companion dog in its native land. The name means 'small dog' in Japanese.

Temperament:
With its keen senses, legendary cunning and quicksilver agility, the Shiba is a friendly, outgoing companion and excellent watchdog. The breed possesses a spirited boldness and independent nature.

Activity Level:
This nimble and agile breed likes activity. Its small size makes it suitable for any dwelling but it requires a fair amount of exercise to use up excess energy.

Height/Weight:
The male Shiba stands about 15.5-16 in (39.5-41 cm) in height, with females standing one in (2.5 cm) shorter. The average weight should be 17-23 lb (8-10 kg).

Coat:
The Shiba's outer coat is stiff, straight, harsh and short. The guard hairs stand off from the body. The undercoat is thick and soft.

Colour:
The Shiba may be red, sesame or black-and-tan.

Grooming:
The coat needs only regular brushing.

I've always loved shibas, and I am going to get one when I am independent and able to afford and provide for one.

Dachshund (Miniature Smooth)
Provided By: Dogs in Canada, Dogs in Canada
Origin:
The Mini Smooth is the smaller version of the original Dachshund, the Standard Smooth. It is believed the Mini was created by mating small specimens of the Standard to create a Dachshund small enough to pursue pesky hares to their lairs.

Temperament:
The Mini Smooth shares the same affectionate, full-of-fun outlook on life as the others of its breed.

Activity Level:
Playful and entertaining, the Mini Smooth also loves to curl up with its favourite person and just chill out. Exercise needs are easily met.

Height/Weight:
The ideal weight of Mini Dachshunds is 10 lb (4.5 kg).

Coat:
The coat is short, thick, smooth and shiny.

Colour:
The Mini Smooth Dachshund shares the same colours as other varieties in its breed, being one-coloured, two-coloured, dappled or striped.

Grooming:
Nothing to it. Once over with a hound mitt or brush will do it. But don't forget those nails!

Give me a Dachshund.

working dogs, from east to west:
tibetan mastiff, akbash, komondor, kuvasz, maremma, st. bernard, great pyrenees, newfoundland dog.

Any of them!

I really want a husky, but it'll probably die because I'm so busy all the time. I used to walk and play with my friend's husky all the time back in high school, but I barely see him now. :( I'll spoil him crazy when I get off for winter break.

She's been gone for almost 4 months now and I still cry.

We haven't had the heart to pick her ashes up yet.

Mine has been gone for two years now and I still can't get over his loss. I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

My granddad had one, they were a good little dog. When I moved into my own place I got one as well.
