Pig Hotel ...

Sounds like a reasonable but horrible idea, given how the Chinese treat most animals.

What could possibly go wrong?

If the build is good designed for pig farming, other countries trying to export pork would be in trouble.
Each building is easier to quarantine diseases ...

Interesting. What are they going to do with the excrement? Somehow I think it is going to be a problem, but they might have it figured out.

sewage system turns it into fertilizer? a win win win situation.

Nothing I have ever seen from China with respect to farming tells me that this concept would be anything other than a disgusting 6 storey slophole that would only increase the incidence of disease in the animals.

It is vile. Disgusting. We only will purchase pork from local producers who give their animals some quality of life.

I am absolutely convinced the solution to animal cruelty is cultured meat.

Good luck trying to convince meat eaters to go plant-based.

Considering veganism/vegetarianism has grown and more plant based options are available in super markets and restaurants, I don't think "good luck" is needed. People are being convinced.

Design design design, if the design is good and the pigs are happy.
Who are we ''privileged west think we are the best and above the rest'' going to tell others what to do ?

The Chinese have been eating pork for thousands of years. I don't think westerners understand just how much pork they eat.

People who convert to a plant-based diet already have the propensity to do so for whatever reason for them to. As for the billions that still eat meat, you're never going to convince them.

Last time I was at family get together, my elderly parents and siblings noticed that I wasn't eating the duck and pork that was on the table. I was eating pretty much just the rice and vegetables. My parents became really worried and said I was going to lose my health and starve to death. That's pretty much the prevalent belief among meat eaters, that they have to eat meat to live.

Converting to cultured meat, we don't have to stumble over the misconceptions that the billions of people have about plant-based. All we gotta do is fight all the die-hard "natural meat" dumbasses. The way to do this is just introduce it into the market and eventually people won't even notice the difference like how nobody cares nowadays that most stuff in the grocery store are genetically engineered.

Just saying.

I am personally not really interested in convincing anyone, people will do what they want. If people want to have a conversation with me about veganism and the harms I find with animal agriculture, that's cool. Personally I am not one looking to go around convincing people on why they should do it. At the end of the day all the information is out there and I think plenty of people realize what is happening. There are a lot of factors as to why not everyone is going to switch over, it not being convenient for some, the misconception of cost, the misconception of it not being a viable diet to live on, cognitive dissonance and many more. I will express myself on the topics and have conversations about it, but my end goal isn't to really convince anyone the reality is people are going to do what they're going to do. I think people will gradually move over with time as more information comes out and we talk about it more, which is what I believe is happening right now.

Are they given poppers and butt plugs?

None of the diseases common to livestock have gone away, some of them are becoming difficult to suppress.
No ideas are being dismissed, if it doesn't work - try something else.

Poor society people eat more vegetables and less or very little meat (people are very healthy less illness)
Rich society people eat more meat and less vegetables (people are fat and less healthy)
