Pink: Conflict With Linda Perry + Christina Aguilera

Linda Perry sounded very bitter in that clip. Seeing as she had resurrected her own songwriting career through Pink you'd think she would have at least be gracious enough to say that. Try this may have been a dip in 'emotional commitment' but if they hadn't done that, chances are I'm Not Dead wouldn't have been anywhere near as raw. She really enjoys throwing her toys out of the pram.

And as Pink said: Imitation is not the most sincere form of flattery, it's just annoying.

I lost some respect for Linda after seeing that clip. She's the songwriter, the collaborator, not the artist. It's not for her to decide when to make a record or what direction it should take. She's a hired gun. Either you want to make some money or you don't. It was extremely rude to dis Pink's material for the "fun record" too.

Im not a pink fan... she suports lies about the fur industry so she becomes annoying to me.

Pink did a lot of Linda's career, which is why Linda went back in with her and tried to write songs for her record, but Linda did just as much for Pink. She's not just "hired help" robotically shooting out hits. She cares about the quality of the music she's putting out. It's well within her right to say I don't think you're ready to do another record yet, and Pink even agreed she wasn't opened up emotionally at that time so clearly there was something to what Linda was saying.

Pink also didn't have the right to get upset that Linda was working with other artists. What did you expect her to do? Just go quietly back into the night now that you've used her to get you a hit album?

Yet she set up a studio in Pink's room and wrote 3 songs that went on the record. If she felt that strongly about it she shouldn't have done it at all.

It's only natural to be upset when your writing partner works with someone you consider an enemy.

Well the songs she and Linda did do for that record turned out pretty good so obviously at some point they gelled and churned out some quality records. Doesn't change how Linda felt about whatever it was that Pink had played her.

No it's not natural, it's childish. Just like this:

I thought she sounded like a woman who didn't want to waste her valuable time waiting for someone to get her act together and not be self-indulgent.

Thank you. If anything Pink sounded bitter that she couldn't keep Linda all to herself.

Pink can be (very) immature sometimes...

But I still love her and Linda and of course Christina.

Not really. Say your boyfriend cheated on you. Would you still be angry with him even if you found a better guy later on?

Linda's not her 'boyfriend', she's a songwriter and she can freely choose who she wants to work with. And by the way....didn't Carey Heart cheated on her? and she still accepted him back. :help:

Boyfriend, friend, business partner who goes to work for a rival business, they're all relationships. It was an analogy to make a point.

Linda is free to choose who she wants to work with, and Pink is free to choose who she wants to work with. Of course Linda isn't obligated to work exclusively with Pink, but to go over to Christina's camp after their history? That is disloyal in my book.

I love Pink. I think she's a very intelligent woman who often has very insightful things to say about important things. I think she was being a bit of a brat on this one and I think she's aware of it. It's just who she was at the time a rebellious young girl who hadn't found her place or her voice yet. That's of course in respect to the portion of the video on Linda the part where she put Christina's agent in his place just made me laugh.

LMAO, you're comparing their relationship to a boyfriend and girlfriend? Jesus Christ.

While it was a business relationship between Linda and Pink, they were obviously close friends as well. And then for Linda to go work with someone Pink does not like, I can understand why she would have been upset about it. I would be too!

That said, it's business. And Linda can do what she needs to in order to get paid.

No, I was pointing out how one might still hate somebody even after finding happiness later on. Just because you are successful and happy now doesn't erase what the person did to you.

Well, she tried to, at least. We all know who got the bigger part. ;)
