Piss on the Poor

If the same crazy people live in both, I have a question:

do they migrate, or commute? :p

i have no idea. *shrugs*

it's funny how there's people in the uk that talk down on america and then you have people in america talking down on people from iraq or any place that has a large muslim population, north korea, africa and etc. does it really matter? the whole world is crazy as long as people are still around. everybody wins.

Like any other big city Toronto has it's problem areas. Where did you stay when you came?

the first two times, i visited the city for a day when i was staying at niagara falls. the last two times, i was actually in the city of toronto where i stayed there for some days or so for caribana. i'm a bit more biased towards nyc though. toronto just seem weird to me. they paint it as this super nice city here in the states but it's different from the way it's made out to be. i also noticed a bit of arrogant attitude in toronto too where as in new york, people are too busy minding their own business where you feel free to do whatever. i think toronto is the ideal city if you want to relax or whatever. nyc is for people that move around or whatever.

but toronto is dirty, nyc has TERRIBLE smells. that city smells like shit especially around manhattan.

So you saw Toronto during Caribana. What exactly do you expect the city to look after a million people came here to enjoy the event.

This is the last I'm going to say about this and go hi-jack some else's thread please.

Did "Bum Fights" ever catch on in USA?

Wait. Maybe it started there? Can't remember.

Anyway, I remember a while back there were literally billions* of videos of people paying homeless people to fight with eachother. Talk about barbaric.

*this might be a slight exaggeration

I didn't read refuji's comment to be a hijack. There are from time to time some Canadian J U B members who post decidedly anti-American comments. To the contrary, this is one of the few times I remember ever reading a member post an anti-Canadian sentiment (other than jibes or jests.)

Refuji was challenged to prove he had been to Tranna enough times to have a valid opinion; then he proved he had, and compared it to NYC, which he also gave a mixed review, so it certainly seems rude to see him to the door. And far from trolling or hijacking, he was turning over the context of the event and looking for any connection with the city's reputation, and specifically its reputation here in Hot Topics.

It was on topic.

cool that you think we call our city Tranna(but really we don't)......cool that you think someone's one day visit gives him an insight into what the city is really like.

Impressed at that.

back to topic please.

If you are raised as an animal you can't be expected to behave like a productive citizen. Someone should do that to his mother.

Police probe video of man urinating on another sleeping outside Eaton Centre

"The video, hosted on the website World Star Hip Hop, received more than 100,000 views on its first day. It’s unclear when it was recorded.
The video begins with a man sleeping on the ground in front of the mall at Yonge and Dundas Sts.
Another man approaches and appears to deliberately urinate on his head. Bystanders can be heard laughing in the background.
The man on the ground does not wake up for the duration of the 27-second video.
Nobody intervenes. One other man, all but his finger off screen, points and exclaims, “It’s on his head,” laughing."

This is what happens when we let just anybody immigrate here. But one other point... We don't even know if they are Canadian (sure didn't sound like english they were speaking). They could have been some trashy tourists too. Yonge Street is full of them. It was probably during Caribbana last year.

I expected better from you.

I'm an immigrant and it's not cool to target people and make scapegoats of them.

not cool at all.

Why wou you expect better from me? Why did you post this in the first place? To get a rise out of people, no? To create a dialogue on how shitty Toronto is, no?

Please. AS a born and raised Torontonian, when ever I see shit about my home city. I call it out, where ever it originates from. Why didn't you just post it without identifying the city, ya know, as a commentary on the decline of society? As others have said, it goes on almost everywhere. But you purposely chose to identify Toronto. Why? To get a rise. So you got one. Defend it then. Defend your city, your home.

Even the police suspect the perp is not of local origin. Most likely a tourist, at the busiest tourist attraction in the city, at one of the busiest tourist times of the year. C'mon, don't go all holier than thou on me.

oh god the morality of the people who live in my city.
I love my city and I live downtown.

why do people accuse me of things when they know nothing of me.

this is a thread of young people of toronto pissing on a homeless person and no it's not tourist who did it but our youth,

sad really.

I just feel for the victim. People passing around the link to be viewed by anyone and everyone. How humiliating for him (as if being homeless isn't enough).

It is crimes like this where I fully support a return to public flogging. Give that bastard 20 lashes accross the back and see who laughs then.

Remember Tbonez when he posted on here. He lived there, and he called it Tranna. I doubt he ever visits here anymore on the forum, but the use of "Tranna" was a sort of homage to him, as he always had it posted above his avatar.

Sorry that you felt is was a false familiarity. I've never been to Canada, nor do I know anything of it first hand.

I've lived my entire life within an hour and a half's drive from Toronto, and the only time I ever heard it pronounced 'Tranna' is from American tourists.

When I was working in the IGA store in Brighton back in the early 70s, an American stopped there and asked directions to 'Tranna'. I gave him directions north to the 401 freeway and go west. The freeway goes right through it. Apparently, they had crossed at Niagara Falls, followed the highway around to the QEW (goes through southern Toronto), turned north on the 427 (goes north through Toronto), then east on the 401 (goes through northern Toronto). They missed Toronto entirely. They were actually looking for direction signs with 'Tranna' on them.

I remember seeing 'Tranna' over Tbonez avatar. I thought he was joking. 'Tranna' really is joke material up here. We might pronounce it T'ronto without the first 'r', but never Tranna.
