Pissed off at the control that the health insurance industry has on the US government

hungrybrownbear, when you say you dont want the government to "take away your freedoms" what exactly are you referring to? With socialist healthcare systems, you can generally go to any doctor in your area - sometimes the whole country, depending which country you're in. Do you mean to tell me that your private insurance will let you go to ANY doctor you want? If that's what you think, I suggest you check before you decide to change doctors. I'm not aware of any US health insurance company that doesn't restrict which doctors and hospitals you can go to, and they ALL restrict which treatments you can get.

Don't give me that nonsense about having to wait in a sociaist healthcare system. I live in the United States - and I've been waiting for 6 years and counting because I can't afford the treatment I need, and my insurance company is refusing to pay. I'm about ready to take their asses to court and get my congressman involved. Luckily for me, it's not life threatening - but my condition is a serious downward pressure on my quality of life. I live every single day in agonizing pain, all so my insurance company can pay their executives the millions. Health insurance, when not gripped with an iron fist of government regulations, is the most evil thing in the world. Nobody requires them to pay - so they don't.

I'd rather be put on a socialist healthcare waiting list and sit and wait for 6 months, or hell even a year if necessary; than to deal with my current private insurance company who refuses to pay for my treatment indefinately.

So we don't wait for healthcare in America? We get it right now? I'm in my 6th year of waiting, and there's no light on the horizon unless I can sue the bastards and have a judge force them to pay.

It comes down to ideology...what is the governments role?

One ideology is every man for himself, which is how America got itself into such a deep hole in the first place, every corporation and rich person fleecing the government at taxpayer expense....

If you havent seen michael moores new movie capitalism, you should. its eye opening and pretty disgusting to think of the things that are tolerated in this country.

it makes me ashamed to be called american sometimes, when i know so few are creating so much pain in our country and around the world.
