I would suggest you read it thoroughly, then bit by bit write a damning critique and renunciation of it and publish it for the world to see. The only way ideas can be killed is to show that the idea was rubbish to begin with.
I have read the book thoroughly. I merely said the first three disgusted me because the author is stupid enough to let the materials being written out explicitly, but I managed to read it until the author's biography in the end of the book. Trust me, it's nowhere near the books Boston Pirate mentioned (not even Mein Kampf, which I though is actually interesting).
There are 8 chapters in the book and I'm gonna give you the outline of it. For those easily offended, keep your pants while reading as it actually hurts.
The first chapter talks about why homosexuality must be cured. In short, they blame the gays for the genesis and the spread of HIV/AIDS and the fear of human extinction should the gays be let free to have their rights and marry etc, by using Koran citations as a mean to justify their thoughts. Also they talk a bit about the LGBT revolutions around the world and how those things are a derogatory to human life.
The second chapter discusses about what homosexuality is, what the apparent cause is, and the risks of homosexual activities. The sad thing is despite the book is medical, it comes nowhere near the true scientific descriptions of homosexuality; neither it talks about Kinsey's research on sexual orientation, nor it explains the biological side of sexuality. The whole thing above is described shortly as if it were only a prelude to the next part of the chapter: the history of homosexuality, the LGBT movements (in short, again), and the danger of it. What really pisses me is in this chapter: they uses all the information collected as a way to belittle gays, so instead of being neutral, the book sorta become heavily one-sided to the side of homophobics. This is truly unforgiven especially in scientific field.
The third chapter, the least abrasive of all, cites stories of some people (1 gay, 1 lesbian, and 1 straight woman whose husband is gay) who wanted to be cured from the dilemma they're experiencing. I have no opinions here since there are people like them and it's their choice, so I can't do anything about it. The fourth chapter, as an answer to the third, talks about the therapies needed. But only one-third of the chapter mentions therapies; the rest includes Koran citations which the author claims must be repeated frequently in order for a regretful gay to regain his/her senses and become a normal straight human. Talking about medical, this book is no different which the Christian Gay Healing (or something similar).
The fifth, sixth, and seventh deals with the same issues as the second, third, and fourth, but on a different aim: this time, the transexuals. I don't need to mention the contents of these chapters as it will be repetitions of the two paragraphs above.
And the last concludes all in two pages: that homosexuality is wrong, can be cured as long as the individual feels guilty and wants to change, and that the Koran can help them change.
After all of those, I can't see anyone agrees with the matter but the Muslims (which are mostly homophobic since Islam forbids LGBT) and the homophobics. As for the author, which is a psychiatrist, it's a shame since he himself said that in medical science, homosexuality is regarded as a variation and thus we have to accept that (even he gave out an example of his patient). It made me think, why he didn't said he actually disapproved the decision but left the students whether they tolerated the gays or follow his footsteps. Geez...talking about hypocrisy.
