"don't even try anything I'm not kidding" Should be the answer you have, though it may not be the answer you are looking for.

Sounds like he was in a bit of a 'mood' and did something he probably doesn't feel comfortable doing again. Since he's sort of told you flat out to leave it alone, as evidenced by the quote above, I'd let it rest and not bring it up. If he approaches you about it, without you initiating it, then maybe go ahead with it.
