Who remembers THIS one ?

Kyu Sakamoto (10 December 1941 – 12 August 1985) was a Japanese singer and actor, best known outside Japan for his international hit song "Ue o Muite Arukō" (known as "Sukiyaki" in English-speaking markets), which was sung in Japanese and sold over 13 million copies. It reached number one in the United States Billboard Hot 100 in June 1963, making Sakamoto the first Asian recording artist to have a number one song on the chart.

Sakamoto died on 12 August 1985 in the crash of Japan Airlines Flight 123, along with 519 others on board the flight.

That song has always been very badly treated in the English-speaking world. Here's the Wikipedia entry. What a tale of woe! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukiyaki_(song)

Pablo Alboran singing "El Beso" is a very nice foreign song ... "Me llaman loco ..." ... "They call me crazy ..." ... It is often danced to by different couples ... :) ...

Two veterans from Senegal. I came across the first one today while channel hopping. The presenter said this is his first solo CD. I don't know what it's about.

That reminded me of Baaba Maal, who was 68 yesterday. I bought this CD when it came out and played it to death. You can hear all of it on YT. Here's the translation.
