Personally, I think the pocket watch look is right up your alley. Wether it makes you look like a dickhead is in the eye of the beholder and those who know you best.

my best buddys house was robbed many years ago and they stole his fathers pocketwatch - since then every year I buy him a new pocket watch for christmas - I dont have one of my own - but I do think they are much more masculine than wrist watches - I find any jewelry on men (not including piercing) very feminine - decorative jewelry and anything around the wrist is a major turn off - but I do like pocket watches -
