will veer.
The Folks were sick and tired of what came before,
so voted a mandate of almost historic lore.

BUTT times are a tough
and not recovering fast enough
so the electorate will likely speak
and put lots of Dems on their feet
walking back home from old DC
to once again give more control of the country
to the Repubs and maybe even an independent or two.

Politics has devolved in the past many years.
The left and the right used to put aside petty fears
to reach for what's best for all of us you see,
but now it's pork barrel for me while I pee on thee.

Our Fathers of Founding would turn in their graves,
to see how their political progeny now behaves.

I understand your concerns here; hence the fake alarm. Maybe I can sue the original news website for putting the wrong address; the location of news is Jakarta but the news reported Yogyakarta, the location of the Merapi. The Merapi and Jakarta is separated distance away; like between Texas and Florida---there's no way the lava and the heated gas will reach here.

b. Lefty, we had similar thoughts about the Poetry Thread. It was past my bedtime last night when I thought of trying to contribute something, but, well, you've got to have some talent and alertness to be able to whip something up, and I was running out of fuel. Thanks for taking up the gauntlet, unthrown, and resurrecting the thread.

And, with such an interesting, introspective piece, too, I might add.
We have to be careful, or someone might see what's underneath that black walnut shell you've built up around yourself.
