^ Ah. Thanks for that. We had a federal sales tax and provincial sales taxes. Each province sets its own tax rate. Alberta once had no sales tax, but I don't know if that still applies.

Indeed. Canada never had concentration camps, but we had internment camps, and they remain one of the darkest blots on our history books:

They were interned for the rest of the Second World War, during which time their homes and businesses were sold by the government in order to pay for their detention.

It is my opinion that our current president respects the man holding the office. I’m not sure how he feels about the office itself.

Oh cool your tits down, no one said anything about genocide. A concentration camp IS an internment camp and have been used in America several times in the past, and probably will again in the future. Chillax, man. #-o

They are not the same thing, and they serve two entirely different purposes. Before you go shooting off your mouth, you should do a bit of homework and find out what you're talking about.

Oh, yes. Wikipedia. The ultimate authority on information.

A concentration camp (such as Auschwitz) is a collection of deplorable buildings where prisoners are crammed into very small spaces. Families are torn apart and often sent to different camps. They are given very little to eat. They are often forced to work. They are, literally, confined slaves. Many die without ever seeing the inside of a gas chamber.

Internment camps are confined accommodations. Families stay together, go to school, go to stores, and do everything they would normally do at home which, by the way, are taken by the government and sold. They are political prisoners whose only 'crime' is being the same nationality as the enemy.
