My mom speaks fluent Polish (although she says it is a bit rusty since her mom died about 6 years ago). Her sister was even born in Germany during WWII while her parents were enslaved by the Nazis. I still blame my horrible dad for my brother and I not being taught the language as it was impossible for my brother and I to speak to our grandparents.

Just be weary that the sad but true thing about Eastern Europeans is that we never smile in photos but it doesn't mean we can't be happy!

I never dated or went out with a gay or bi Polish guy. Living in London a lot of painters decorators are polish. They do good work and are reasonable.
