I see nothing in my previous post that merits a caution to be "gentlemanly". I was merely claiming that adhering to proprieties and calcified ideas about right and wrong are idiotic in our current political climate.

I understand that a moderator's job is to squelch snotty personal attacks and flaming, but I did nothing of the kind. I resent being told to stay in line when I was not out of line to begin with.

Thank you chance1. (*8*) We've found our common ground.

Would you not agree then, that as Americans that we should be truly united on the "war on terrorism," and that the Bush Administration has done nothing to keep us united on the issue?

As a country, I feel that we can do better, and that someone should hold our elected representatives accountable for thier percieved duplicity.

You didn't have to share with me what you've shared here in your post. You have my complete respect.

I hope that you and I can continue to debate the solutions to the current situaiton that our country finds itself in.

The Bush admin has not done a good job keeping the country united - I would agree. He lost it somewhere along the line - not sure how. Not sure if he was incapable or lazy or whatever.

They will be held accountable for sure - the midterm and Pres elections will likely hold him and his party responsible and deal them a loss - a big one. Personally I'd like to see the Dems gain power of at least the House if not the Senate also. I think lobbing salvos from the cheap seats is actually a lot easier than being in charge - but we'll see.

As for President, not sure that will be a party line vote - I think the individual, not the party, is more how people vote. So John McCain, war hero, not a party line repub, could win - I like him. Giuliani scares me a bit - I like him and he did a tremendous job as mayor - much bigger gig Pres. Not sure if he can handle the scrutiny. The by the book repubs - Frist, Allen, others - would get killed IMO. Don't dig Hillary - not really sure what she stands for. But maybe all we need is a caretaker.

Good kicking it around for sure

Take care
