Rachel Maddow presents the results of a new PPP poll which finds, among other things that Donald Trump is less popular than lice, and yet, contrary to media narratives about a party split, Republican voters are shown as likely to vote for him and even Republican politicians who said terrible things about him are eating their words and supporting him. yeah I saw it--smart dems are trying not to be complacent---Trump can still win.charles barkley.jpg

because what Charles is saying is so obvious---I hope there are many more like him--but who knows?

Yes he is, but apparently it doesn't matter to the every day ho-hum voting republican, that's what that whole segment was about--lice may be more preferred to him but he's still getting republican voters votes....go figure.

I have never had this much success in my life convincing people of anything politically...but so far I am up to NINE people ....most Republicans..that I have been able to convince to vote for Hillary.....

I am keeping a chart....

It's easy....I play the Armageddon Card....and thanks to Trump..none of them even consider my scenario implausible. I don't even have to spell out G L O B A L D I S A S T E R ...I just suggest that he may not know a thing about the World Stage or the Economy......and then I throw in the Wall Street connection Hillary has as THE winning ticket...since Wall Street has a vested interest in not letting the US Economy collapse and they must understand Hillary is the only person who can prevent it if they are giving her so much money....

Damn..Trump has made it so easy this year...

I got an undecided Democrat today..| I asked her how many times she has heard the same crap they say about Hillary in her own life...her husband cheated too....this is gonna be fun....

No wonder people think politicians are disgusting---the things Jindal and Perry or even fat Christy said about Trump---and now support him----it's easy to be cynical. None of it comes anywhere near what the dems have said of each other.

The alternative, Sanders or Hillary, will be a catastrophe for our democracy and economy. Either will appoint a fifth liberal to the Supreme Court giving them a solid block majority. They will immediately begin changing the election laws to favor the democrats. That, combined with abortion and immigration, will make it impossible for a non-democrat ever to be elected again. With Republicans powerless the democrats will eliminated our free enterprise economy. Socialism first, but they will, as they are now, unable to stop imposing more and more burdens and regulations. They may not want communism as such, but a one party dictatorship with socialism is communism.

You mean laws that will counteract the gerrymandered House where the minority rules the majority?

Lol--Dem presidents have been more successful with everything than any repub president---the only catastrophic presidency was George W Bush----everything that could go wrong---did. From the Supreme court giving him the job to his last day at 28% approval ---I don't know what bubble you live in. And the bat shit repub party---if they got their act together---could be conservative alternative in the future---but it would have to be in the British sense of conservative not the fascist nazi templet they seem to be comfortable with.

They will impose gerrymander rules favoring minorities, i.e. democrats. They will prohibit asking voters for their identities. They will limit expenitures favoing non democrats in elections, giving the democrat media a free hand. More to come.

The real problem is demographics. Historically Americans have favored democracy and economic freedom and voted Republicans. Poor immigrants favor high taxes on Americans to pay for socialism and freebies for the immigrants.

Those sound more like your reasons than 'GOP' voters in general.
Your position is closer to Cruz, whose policies are even more extreme (and less popular with GOP voters than Trump's).

None of these are likely.

If they're smart, they'll work to end gerrymandering permanently by passing a law encouraging states to do away with congressional districts and go to voting by party, so the huge number of Americans with no representation in the present system can have a voice.

That is apparently very upsetting to a number of so-called evangelical leaders, who urged people to go with Cruz because he at least made the right noises, while Trump says almost nothing that evangelicals have tended to care about.

But they have little choice, given that they regard Hillary quite similarly to the way Benvolio does, so they have to choose the lesser of two weevils. The trouble there, as early church Fathers would have happily reminded them, is that if you choose the lesser of two evils, you're still choosing evil.

Now, there's a nice aspect to that, but it probably belongs in another thread....

appoint a fifth liberal to the Supreme Court...They will immediately begin [STRIKE]changing[/STRIKE] returning the election laws to favor [STRIKE]the democrats[/STRIKE] ALL people who should be eligible to vote.
Fixed it for you.

In states that have been able to get away with it, which usually means merely passing such laws that seldom get challenged, the combination of Gerrymandering and restrictive voter ID laws currently VERY STRONGLY favor Republicans. No affiliation should be favored.

Maybe finally lice will get their time in the sun.

Maybe they will be Donald's VP pick.

No, all people should not be eligible to vote, only LIVING CITIZENS, and then only once. Non citizens and illegal aliens should not be allowed to vote for higher, higher, higher taxes on Americans. Nor should they be able to vote for BOA Spring Meeting 2016more freebies for themselves at the expense of citizen taxpayers.
