The only reason I know about Ougadougou is because it is full of wildebeest. How'd I know you were gonna take a weird one? You probably have a map of Ougadougou on your wall, don't you? The Amish have walls, right?

How do you know? Have you been there? No it doesn't; those are in southern Africa, silly![]()

Touché.As a matter of fact...... I've worked in several African countries... but you don't have to have been there to know the range of Connochaetes gnou.![]()

?Ouagodugou, Mali?
Nope. Try Bamako
Thanks for the correction. To be honest neither city nor capital sounds even remotely familiar. Anyone else see any mistakes?
What, you prefer Leopoldville, the name under the Belgian Congo colonial period?
or Kinshasa, Zaire.... Mobutu changed the name to Zaire when he ruled in the 60's and 70's and then it was changed back although the techincal name is Democratic Republic of Congo.
or are you referring to Brazzaville, Congo? that one was a French colony.
Remember, there are two Congos now.
Don't mess with Palindromos.... he knows Africa.![]()
The only reason I know this is because I have always wanted Timbuktu to be the capital of somewhere... but it was only so in the 15th cent. or there abouts.
Timbuktu is in present day Mali.
That's how I'm remembering some of the ones I posted. Most of this wasn't really enforced in high-school, watching a movie (like Congo) or a news report always jogs my curiosity. I knew Sudan from looking up stuff about Darfur.
