(Possible) changes to Idol's new season

The only person tonight who I found halfway passable was Emily Wynne Hughes, who sang Barracuda. The rest were all either total crap or very forgettable. Definitely no big standouts tonight.

I completely disagree. I thought the country girl was the best stand-out of the group. Emily reminded me of that girl from last season Amanda Overmyer. Something unique, but not impressive.

Oh! I also like Kara as a judge. I think she's great. I LoL'd at her getting all defensive at the girl telling her that her demonstration sucked.

Myself and marley think she said "oh no bitch.." as she was getting up. That was hilarious.

From the previews, it looks like tomorrow's episode will show the auditions of Von Smith and Jason Castro's brother, Michael. It's stunning how similar Jason and Michael sound, and Von is just plain awesome.

I hope Jason's brother doesn't make it to Hollywood if they sound the same. I'm surprised Jason's nasty unwashed nappy dread stoner ass was on that program as long as he was. He was nothing short of unimpressive and he looked like he could give a shit less if he was there.

Last I heard he's workin the drive-thru at KFC in Alabama. If u ask nicely he'll sing "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" into the intercom, but don't encourage him. He'll start begging you to buy his new mixtape and he'll ask that if you ever run into Clive Davis, tell Clive to return his damn phone calls.

I thought he was the fry guy at the McDonald's at Pinetree and Magnolia? I coulda sworn...

Don't be so sure, she's pretty and has a semi-decent voice. People will see her as a victim of the mean judges, she was just "speaking her mind" and "telling it like it is." Have you learned nothing from I Love New York? People LOVE self-absorbed bitches.

I LOVE New York. Something about her. I love bitchy people lol. Probably because I wish I could express my bitchiness more, but I just use sarcasm instead, so I live my bitchiness out through others lol

Here's Michael Castro's MySpace Page. If you click to listen to "Feelin' Good," you'll see what I mean re: sounding just like Jason. Their voices are virtually identical.

Wow. I like his voice A LOT better than Jason's. He definitely seems more interested in the music scene then Jason did. Did anyone ever notice when he was on stage, there was what looked to be gnats flying around his dreads? lol

LoL, my sister said she saw the same thing when we were watching. I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention. I was too busy rolling my eyes at that Megan Hauserman clone.

The only reason I think it happened is because the previews leading up to it, had her throwing up the papers, and then as she was getting up, the bleeped out something she said, and then when they actually showed the segment, they didn't bleep it so it was completely passive.

Great clip. I like the new judge. I also noticed that Paula is being far more vocal than in the past. Maybe she feels the pressure of competition.

I also like that they aren't showing the people who totally suck, who know they suck and only come on to try to get on TV. The last couple of seasons focused way too much on that.

I love the new judge!!!

Why did Paula say yes though? To make Simon happy? What was with that really odd chin wobble that girl in the bikini had going on though?

I liked when the new judge threw her papers in the air in disgust and then "hold on a minute bitch" Just LOL!

I liked it and I really like the new girl Kara. She can really sing too. Here's a video of her singing 'Taking Chances', which she wrote.

I thought Von was terrible. Loud and overbearing. He had a great tone up until he started getting loud. Meh. And what was with the Jazon Mraz look. ](*,)

Which one was that, what did she sing? If u mean the last girl who auditioned, I agree. She did good, SLIGHTLY better than average but she struck me as the type that can do wonders in a 15 second clip but would struggle through an entire song (like 99% of all idol contestants). She was okay, certainly not worth the hysterics the judges went into. The comparison to Fantasia and Mary J. Blige were undeserved.

Stacy, I don't remember if they said the next city. U can probably find a spoiler on the site or somewhere online.

Yes, she was the very last one. The mother of 3 who lost everything in the Tornado. The sympathy vote really gets old, though. It happened what, 3 times tonight? 2 of them actually had great voices. But some people they put through its like "WTF?" When I auditioned, I sounded a HELL of a lot better than a lot of them they put through. Hell, my judges on the first round said I sounded like Brian McKnight (I auditioned with Back At One).

Well, for my audition I did Back At One.
For the 2nd round, I did "(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher" by Jackie Wilson. And for the third round, when I got eliminated, I did "Someday We'll Know" by the New Radicals.
And yes, I plan on trying out again!

I'm thinking one of my songs next time will be What's So Different by Ginuwine. I LOVE that song. But, I dunno if its vocally challenging enough to deserve any merit from the judges.

But do the judges get to know about all the sob stories before the auditions or are they just given a simple bio about each try-out?

Lil Rounds reminded me a lot of Melinda Doolittle from Jordin's season, quiet but very talented. The widower, the band coach and the welder are the three I'm keeping my eye on from last night.

I actually really liked Lil. A lot. She has potential to be great imo.

Couldn't stand Castro 2.0, Von (who I think has a great voice but completely overdoes everything!!!) and the 'California Dreamin' guy.

But I'm enjoying the season so far!

I think Jason Castro's brother, Michael Castro was quite good.
I am not sure i am buying his story of him just training his vocals 20 days b4 the audition lolz.

It's the pale skin/stupid looking tipped hat, big bushy eyebrows, looks and sounds and acts gay but isn't aaaaand the clothes.

So 75% of the reason you dislike him is because of the way he looks? Well isn't that just vain, LoL. As for acting gay -- what? This is a gay men's forum and you're complaining that someone acts gay?

This is the reason that radio is filled with little more than a pool of talentless hotties, IMO.

By the way, I'm not saying that you're wrong by any means. You're entitled to your opinion. :) I've felt the same way about people based solely upon their looks and other unimportant factors.

LMFAO. No, I like his voice (when he's not pretending we're all deaf). But when I look at him, I see Jason Mraz and I just want to do one of two things: 1) Vomit; 2) Shoot myself in the eye.

And no, I'm just saying he sounds looks and acts gay, LIKE Jason Mraz. Wasn't really complaining lol

Well, I really like Jason Mraz...

Anyway, I really like Von's voice when he isn't overdoing it. When he simply sings the melody, he is imo brilliant. But when he goes overboard, it gets annoying.

I thought she was okay. It will be interesting to hear more from her, but for now, she's just OK for me.

The guy that "threatened" the judges, was hilarious. Who the hell tells you to 'be careful' just randomly? lol

Joanna is on Wednesday's show (tomorrow for me).

Today I liked Adam Lambert. :)

I haven't watched last nights episode yet...so I had no clue Joanna was on this season until I saw your signature in another thread. I find it crazy that she's on...I mean I saw her in concert and have her album....and Britney just covered one of her songs on her new album....it's like wow...does she really need to be on Idol? I mean I know she's not on a label anymore...but I think she has enough fans that she can make a pretty good career for herself.

but I do like her...so I'll be rooting for her I guess...lol
