Post A Song

Here's a song by the group better known for the hit "Ooh Child," but I like the vocal here by Cubie Blake, though I know little about her. This song is almost obscure.

I'm going to have to eat crow here, this proves that I should have done my research before posting. Cubie Burke (not Blake) was a young boy, sounding sort of like a prepubertal Smokey Robinson. The Wikipedia article on the Five Stairsteps said he died in 2014 at the age of 49. Given that the group was at its peak in the late 60s and early 70s, Cubie must have been very young indeed when this song was recorded.

Here's a song I found by a successful google search. I had a snippet of a song stuck in my head for decades that I once heard in the 70s. "Gonna try, gonna try, gonna try, gonna try..." I had no idea what song it was or who sang it. So I entered those very words in google, and way down the page, this song came up, and sure enough, this was it. Mystery solved.
